What's the point of a rights if you can't make it to the clinic safely. Or you can't get to work without getting slashed or worse.

This is a lot of resources off the street. Every citizen of New York who this happens to should get the same type of treatment from the community. We can't keep ignoring this violence. I've seen it rip apart 3rd world countries. To see it happen here and get ignored by the general public is alarming but most New Yorkers would say "Just another day in NYC." That's not normal.

If the 101st Captain didn’t stupidly send (then) Officer Diller to Jamaica hospital’s’ trauma center, but instead to St. John’s episcopal hospital in Far Rockaway (which is 2 1/2-blocks away from the incident), then Officer Diller would’ve had a fighting chance at survival (and yes, I’m from Far Rockaway)

I don't know what MR.PRESIDENT TRUMP is going to do as soon as he is inaugurated, but I do know this. The National Guard is going to be very active. This country is going to go back to law and order.
THIS IS VERY SAD BUT POLICE OFFICERS SHOULD BE PUTTING THIS SAME TYPE OF EFFORT INTO THE PEOPLE DYING EVERYDAY DUE TO CRIMES AND SHOULD TRY TO PUT THERE EFFORT ON OVERTURNING THIS BAD BAIL REFORM THATS BEEN GOING ON IN THIS CITY.
It dates back to when New York's police departments were heavily Irish (and many areas like Chicago, Boston, etc.). Just more of a tradition now. It is both a solemn & dignified way of honoring them.
