Once upon a time only the very rich could afford a car. That's why drink driving penalties are so lax. It's like white collar crime - prison is only for the poor.
So she had two prior drunk driving offenses and the judge let her go after that second one? We need to start holding these judges accountable for releasing criminals back into society. Because she was let go the second time...this man is now DEAD. His blood is not only on this loser but also on the judges that allowed her to go free after her previous drunk driving charges.
It is being reported wrong.. she didn't have 2 DUIs.. she had at least 4 of them.. (two that were 1 week apart).. she also has 4 separate arrests for reckless driving. Several evading (police pursuit) arrests, public intoxication, as well as assault. She has like a dozen mugshots that you can find online.
You would think 6months in jail, never mind the fact that she was lucky not to hurt someone, would have had the desired deterrent effect. Some people just don't learn. And now a man's life was taken.
@@LeafsAndCars Diz iz political, yo. Close da borders yah an' diz shitz crazy yo. Never trust athiest-drunks, especially when days in da pack! We wuz in dat hood and dem athiest-alcoholics, days surround me ands tooks mah wallet and I hadda walk alls dah way home, and nobody help me tah get there!
A drunk driver killed my favorite uncle. Despite the fact that he lived far away and barely made ends meet himself, he’d visit as often as possible. Every time he dropped by, he’d bring along his portable grill and some steaks. Then he’d take us bowling. Before leaving he’d fill our refrigerator and pay at least one overdue bill. I have absolutely NO sympathy for drunk drivers. I hope she’s found liable for his death. I still miss you, Uncle Frank! 😢
Uhm, she did time. The Judges did all they legally could. KNOW the law before you speak, you won't look like an emotional little girl. Your "duh" factor is just as sickening
Actually, under Texas law, the judge could've done a lot more under guide lines for a second DUI than 6 months in county...YOU may want to look up that statute so you don't look like an arrogant jackass@@rickpedia6724
Our DUI laws need to change. Jurisdictions that catch and release so you don’t even spend a night in jail contribute to the problem. Multiple offenders should get serious time. Kill someone? Throw away the key.
What an arrogant and I am not shamed look. Not one ounce of remorse. When she does realize she is in deep do do she'll cry. Not because a man is dead, but because she got caught. Pathetic.
They won’t be charging her until they’ve had time to reduce every charge down that they possibly can. My heart goes out to the victim and his family and friends.
Time to change the laws. My dad had multiple duis and never lost his license or went to jail. I don’t talk to him and I don’t drink. I feel nothing for drunk drivers.
@@rickpedia6724 That's a strange reply for a personal story and an opinion. Usually people are only on soapboxes if they're trying to pursued others opinions. 🤔🤷♀️
Well it’s time that America tightened its laws on Drink Driving by making it a felony regardless of injury or death of others . To soft on drinking and driving not just in America but over here in the U.K . This is someone who needs to spend a long time in prison with a record like hers
I've been saying for decades that 6 months should be the punishment for a first offence. Everyone I have said that to, told me I was crazy. That it's too much.
She had 2 previous DUI convictions, yet she was back on the roads. The penalties for DUI need to be more severe. A DUI should be a felony. Shame on ANY judge who reduces any DUI sentence. Prosecute to the full extent of the law.
No, she deserved prison time after the second one. Because she just got a slap on the wrist, this man is now dead. The judges need to be held accountable for their leniency. This is a part of the reason this country is in the state it is in. Criminals get repeated slaps on the wrist so they now understand there are NOOOOO consequences for their actions. Meanwhile, the law abiding citizens are left to suffer with these people walking free amongst us to continue to cause damage.
She doesn’t give a sh1t about being a repeat drunk driver (that’s only the 2 times she was caught) she certainly would have no problem continuing to drive on a suspended license.
@@squirrelcovers6340 I understand that but it isn't it up to them to hand out sentences when the laws are broken? Low bonds for multiple offenses of drunk driving seems counterproductive lol
Are you guys noticing more & more people are throwing their life away over NOTHING!! Temporary buzz will give u a lifetime of anguish!!! Rip to that man tho ❤
@@imnotgonnabescaredwell your not by any standard whatsoever nothing about that was political yet you have to make it into something political that's just sad and you are a poor example of how to treat political discourse do better that's just small minded
This is because Drunk driving penalties are NOT harsh enough, they just get fines, or get probation, or get a week; (or 6 mos) in jail, or get their licenses revoked, etc. ..and they just KEEP on driving DRUNK until they KILL someone, or a WHOLE family!
So true. Drunk drivers never get into trouble until they finally kill someone. If these idiot judges would throw the book at them for a minor DUI, then there would be much less drunk driving deaths than there is now.
Disgusting!!!! I’m so sick of these drunks thinking they can just get behind the wheel of a vehicle wasted, disregarding the innocent lives on the road!!! It’s so unbelievably selfish reckless and irresponsible!!! We lost my 9yo little cousin to a drunk driver, in 2017 and the man literally got away with murder! He served 4 measly months, cuz they lost evidence of his BAC, amongst others things! I think it was a case of him knowing people in high places!!! I pray to God this women never sees the light of day!! I’m sick and tired of these people getting away with taking the lives of innocent people!!
Better be charged with vehicular homicide. The DA and Judge better not drop charges, reduce charges, or plea deal charges down. In my state of Delaware 3rd DUI is mandatory prison sentence up to 5yrs and loss of driver's license.
this would never have happened if she had more consequences , the charges for DUI are not enough, why r we letting the drunk drivers on the street for things like this too happen
It really should be 1 you’re done. Automatic 1 yr sentence. If found to be over the limit. No second chances to do it again. Cars are deadly weapons treat the offense as attempted murder. Maybe people will think twice.
They let them out over and over till they finally kill someone and changes the victim’s family for ever…repeats at this point, need to be charged with first degree changers, they drive drunk knowingly…..
I could see for the 1st offense going light, but after that if they do it a 2nd time toss the book at them. one time is a mistake more then one is bad behavior
With Uber and Lyft now y’all we have zero reasons to ever be driving drunk like ever and if u can’t get there and ur drunk then u should just stay ur butt right where you’re at. Such a shame
She most likely won't spend time for manslaughter. Defense could actually claim he was jaywalking and therefore, blame him. The dui is a whole different story though. Condolences to his friends and family.
You would think the courts would realize that these drunk drivers never learn their lesson until it;s too late. Stop giving them a slap on the wrist. First time DUI should be 6 months in jail, and a year for the 2nd, if not more.
Wow 😮 it’s definitely not that hard to NOT DUI of something like wtf is wrong w ppl lately it seems like DWI’s are on the rise. My prayers are with the family of victim 😔🙏🏼
I have known 2 really bad alcoholics. Its a terrible disease. One of them recovered after drinking really heavy 30 years and the other 1 died from the alcohol. He was only 59. Both of them started drinking to deal with the pain of their abusive childhoods & got really addicted. My point is most people that do stupid things never had a decent life to begin with. I blame the parents that brought them in to this world & didnt treat them right. Its a vicious cycle.
I’m a alcohol an drug addict but when you start drinking an drugging by yourself you gotta a problem an it takes something serious like this to stop you they always told me your gonna get sober one way or the other.
Why is there this rule about saying "suggested" & "alleged" when its obvious they did it? Who are they "protecting" ? She should be charged with murder.
