Police in Nansana Ganda have fired tear gas to disperse an angry mob protesting against NEMA evictions in the areas around Lubigi wetland. This followed NEMA's issuance of 21-day eviction notices. Meanwhile, some residents of Nakuwadde-Bbira in Wakiso district have asked NEMA to be fair and apply the law while evicting them. This move by NEMA aims to reclaim the Lubigi wetland, which has been occupied by thousands of encroachers for years.

I don’t want my taxes to be used to compensate people who knowingly built in wetland. Look at what Sudir to the lake by filling it with stones and soil when the water claims party of the hotel he be asking for compensation from the government. We need to take care of environment so that the future generations have a good climate and enjoy Uganda.
