Taking his gun away in an Open Carry state is like stopping a diabetic from eating candy whilst inside a candy store. We need a more rigid approach, stricter ACCOUNTABILITY. The gun didn't appear out of nowhere, make it a crime to have unregistered firearms in your property, knowingly or not. That's how we can solve this issue whilst catering to your "freedom" right to open Carry.

I thought they said yesterday that the suspect was shot and killed on the front lawn and was there for an extended period of time. So, if he was killed in the front yard, why was there a seige of the house. Were any shots fired from the house after the guy was killed? Why don't they know if shots were coming from the house. No, I know the law. To overstep a citizens affirmed rights under the guise of punishment is to treat a right as a privilege, even if a person has committed a crime, once their time is served they still have the same rights, what the justice system is doing is illegal, furthermore the right to abolish can be enacted when the system of checks and balances fails, in any instance if the government shows up to take a person's guns that citizen is within their rights to use lethal force if necessary, it is clearly stated that any law that abridges the constitution is null and void at which the citizen is to proceed with immunity, if government is breaking the law itself citizens have the right to defend their selves.
