Acting Sergeant John Dingle, Constables Ryan Hayhurst, Jonathan Lonsdale and Rebecca Sutton-Scott-Tucker were confronted by an offender with a powered angle grinder who violently attack them. The officers then protected their injured colleague from further attack and dragged him to safety. Region 6 Winners - Devon & Cornwall

Having had an arterial bleed and ligaments cut in an accident when I was a student this was painful watching. Very good luck not to have had nerves cut like one of mine was. They may have almost shrugged the injuries off in the video but those were very serious wounds. I hope their recovery, physical and mental, was as complete as is implied.

UK Government - ARM OUR POLICE OFFICERS. This wouldn’t have happened if the guy had a gun pointing at him. FYI - the perpetrator in this incident was detained indefinitely at Broadmoor.
