Cop: "Again these are targeted instances.." Yes targeting any person in the GTA with a nice car/house. This police strategy of downplaying issues by saying they were targeted is wreckless and needs to stop. Targeted means they specifically went after an individual for personal reasons. These criminals are treating our province like a loot bag and are opportunistic in thier attacks. What are we doing to make this stop? These people should be sent out of the country first offence.
They dont make it like a vacation i dont know why you idiots be saying that...there is more crime in canada because there is more people its that simple..there has always been crime in canada

@@terminsane Self-defense under the law provides people with the legal justification to protect themselves if attacked, or if under the threat of attack - that is, it allows people to legally commit violent acts that would otherwise be illegal. In some situations, this right extends to protecting property.

Agreed. Home defense laws are pathetic and need to be changed. You literally have to flee, call 911 and hope for the best. If you fight back to defend you and your loved ones, it's you who'll most likely get in trouble with the law. That's insane imo.
@@SuperStrik9 that's against your human rights. The govt dosnt get to decide when my life is in danger....3 people break into my house with a hammer meets MY threshold of personal safety
@MoreYouKnow-d8h That's the problem. You CAN'T defend yourself,or you will be the one sitting in a jail cell while the "NEW CANADIAN'S" get a pat on the back and personally rewarded by Justin Trudeau to go and do it all over again.
@1ABNDT Yeah, it’s complete crap. There have been instances where people have shot and killed intruders only to end up in jail fighting court cases and although they typically win they spend a lot of money defending themselves. Then they have a hard time getting their firearms back from the government. Something needs to change. We need castle laws enshrined in our charter and carry laws implemented nation wide.
@@JohnDoe-ef6wu And there have been many many more incidents of your teenager using that gun to commit suicide and you are about 97% more likely to kill an innocent person than an intruder! You never hear much about the guy that accidentally shoots their own kid sneaking back into the house in the states although that happens much more frequently. Instead you get the gun lovers whining about needing to protect THEMSELVES and caring NOTHING about the children killed in 36 school shootings so far this year. The police have already confirmed that 99% of these crimes are committed with firearms smuggled from the USA… punishing law abiding Canadians will do and has done nothing but make the problem worse… you can’t compare us to the USA as we have a far different g*n culture and licensing process… when seconds count police are only minutes away…. I know two people personally. One stabbed to death in front of his wife and children. The other robbed at g*n point in his own home…. This will only end when criminal know they’ll face consequences… either in the courts or by the hand of the home owner… unfortunately our current gov isn’t allowing either and have only made the problem worse with bail reform/soft on crime…
The government needs to do something to protect the country. The people in this country are not like before, please review the laws and update accordingly with serious punishment.
It is random. the criminals see a car they like and then they go to the person's house to steal it. it is NOT a " Targeted Incident ". Just do your jobs. And stop downplaying the severity of the circumstances.
Not quite random. These guys are just thugs working for a much larger organization. They will be told what kinds of cars to go after and when they find one they steal it.
Justin won't. He rewards bad behavior. Then he lie's to your face and says "Oh, it's just a small percentage of New Canadians causing problems". Nothing to see here. Get used to it, it's only going to get WORSE.

@@parkerbohnn Crime rates remain relatively low by historical standards, and several kinds of crime have declined greatly - something that gets almost no coverage. Overall crime rates in Canada are still lower than they have been in nearly 50 years, and about 40% lower than they were at the peak in about 1990
Crime rates don’t tell the whole story though. The absolute number of crimes need to be taken into account. A lower crime rate can just mean you’re less likely to be a victim of a random attack. More neighbourhoods where most are just your average working family bring the crime rate down by doing nothing.
Why does police say targent and not a concern for public. Where is the proof this was targeted? How does the rest of the neighbourhood prevent themselves from being targeted? And public announcement like this is no different from just saying "yeah, yeah, don't worry".
Every Canadian has the right to defend themselves, to safeguard their person and their property from threats. However, with how self-defense is written into law in Canada, this right is upheld solely when the defensive actions taken are reasonable and proportional to the circumstances.

Canadian Penal code needs to be overhauled extensively and amended with castle law and CCW, not to mention repeal C21 to allow the citizen to have a more defensive position and the total revamp of justice in it’s softened position againdt criminals and repeat offenders.

You may not use the quickest method of defense, because the attacker might not wish to engage at that level.
@@terminsane The Legal Framework Of Self-Defence In Canada Self-defence is referred to under Section 34 of the Criminal Code which states plainly a person is permitted to carry out reasonable action to protect themselves and/or others without being guilty of a criminal offence. In order to establish self-defence, you must raise an air of reality that the following is true: A force or threat of force was being used against them or another person. You acted for the purposes of defending yourself or others from that force or threat of force. Your act was reasonable in the circumstances.
@@captaincanada5139 I am aware of that right but "reasonable use of force" is very subjective. With society's current ideological shift to the left where the criminals are seen as victims I am not confident I could defend myself without being charged myself. How does one assess reasonable uses of force when a gang is breaking the door down with a hammer. Do we give up our right to defend our property and leave the keys at the door as one police chief suggested? Someone defending their family could easily be charged because he was deemed to use too much force, he/she would then become the accused and the perpetrator(s) the victims. If the state cannot provide protection then we need the ability to defend ourselves without limits or fear of repercussions. These predators know they will not suffer any consequences and this is why they are so bold. I will leave you with Steve Paikin's opening monologue from tonight's Agenda: "The Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area is seeing a surge in violent crimes. Homicides, shootings, and carjackings are all on the rise. This past Labour Day weekend, three people were killed in Ontario's capital city, including a 15-year-old boy." I think we have had enough with Liberal idology ruining this country.

The only solution is to loosen the laws specifically pertaining to defending against a home intrusion. That accompanied by no bail until the case is finalized. Stiffer penalties would prevent the perpetrators from being released, only to go back and aid their syndicate.

Just like it was mandatory to have your plates renewed every 1 or 2 years, make it compulsory to have a receipt to show that your car is equipped with a 'kill switch' or some type of security APPROVED by the police. But hey, if crime goes down, cops can't ask for a bigger budget next year and hire more cops. It's a profession where crime pays...both cops and criminals.
