Police provide update on remains of missing Markham woman found

York Regional Police say that human remains discovered in Parry Sound more than a week ago are those of a missing Markham woman.
Yuk-Ying Anita Mui was first reported missing by her family on Aug. 9. Three days later on Aug. 12, OPP located burned human remains, which have since been confirmed to be those of Mui, police said. The OPP said officers made the discovery after they responded to a report of human remains found at a property on Avro Arrow Road.

This is really mind boggling. The victim was reported missing on August 9 and her remains were allegedly discovered on August 12. And the police are only now asking the public whether they had dash camera image of the van that was alleged to have been involved both in her disappearance and perhaps transporting of her body to Parry Sound. I don't even remember where I went yesterday and what I had for meals let alone recalling people, things and movements of people who might or might not have been involved over 10 days ago. Don't mean to be critical of the YRP of their handling if they could justify this as a strategic move. Otherwise this would have to be classified as one of the most incompetent homicide investigations in the history of the Canadian Police forces.

Personally, I don’t think the kids killed her, it just doesn’t make sense. How could underage kids get a truck, murder a women, and cover evidence so well. It could be possible that her wallet was discarded in a public area with the intention of someone finding it and using them.

It's always extremely frustrating in cases like this where they come out to do a press conference and they offer such sparse information on the case. Literally giving you almost nothing. And the firm information they have is egregious, for example the fact that two of them are out on bail. Free and walking around with shit eating grins on their faces, despite the fact that they may have done God knows what to this woman and then burned her body and joyride off in her Mercedes to use her credit cards to buy vaping material. Absolutely pathetic.

Very sad news. 3 youths in possession of her credit cards is really strange considering her vehicle was left stranded so it doesn’t seem like a car jacking gone bad.. will be interesting to see if Police find the motive behind this. The positive in the investigation is that it’s highly likely 1 or 2 of these youths will reveal more information, the chances of all 3 not snitching is close to 0

Targeted doesn't necessarily mean that the person was malevolent for God's sake. Targeted is just an indication that they chose this particular victim and set it up. In other words it sounds like this may have been premeditated. Which means letting two of them off on bail is even more ridiculous.
