Thank you for this appreciation,I want to become a police because it is my dream to save people and also rescue animals like the dodo on youtube. You took all your time to do this and help us who is watching this,I can’t thank you more♥️👏🏻💝
When you have to give examples of when you’ve done something in order to demonstrate the core competencies, what are you supposed to do if you’ve genuinely never been in that situation.? Does that mean you won’t ever pass to become a police officer and receive the training etc, or does everybody just make something up?
I liked research & investigations as passionate about mathematics but this info of age restriction I never new all along and hurt that the department never tried spreading such info for us the over 30s by 2022. And I still wish to go for it.
Hi........I always wanted to be a police officer, but just now I decided to go for it in April. My worry is that I`am a 50 years woman, very fit and active, with 21 years residency in UK, 5 years in Brazil and in April 3 years back in UK. Do you think that at my age it will be hard to pass ? I know the age limit is 57. I`m confident that I have all the qualities to became a PC and I`m starting my preparation now to be ready for the assessment day. Thank you
Hi Nilvano, thanks for posting and don't forget to check out our guide: www.how2become.com/careers/police-officer/ Being 50 is not a problem... go for it :)
You mention about spelling and grammar. I have taken this test many times now over the course of 9 years . I score in the high 90 percent on all areas apart from spelling and grammar. I am phoenectatly dyslexic . I am offered 5 mins more time on written test which is totally pointless as it does not matter if I had a hour longer it would not change the way I spell things . They have stated I can use word computer system if one is available which it never is . I have written the test and had it externally examined and the content is all there its just the spelling and grammar here and there . Do do you suggest . I actually feel quite saddened by it as it's a job I've always wanted . I'm getting older and older by the day . I am head of my business work in as I have strived to work to the top and didnt let it stop me but this test has finished me off . I get told in the interview that my answers are really good which shows on the score I get later when receiving results. I was a retained fire fighter for 10 years and I'm extremely fit and very likeable and professional. I just feel It's quite bias towards dyslexic peoples personally I feel . Thoughts? Suggest?
Hi there my name is Mandy and it seems that you answered my question which saddens me I’ve been working in education over 11 years but I am dyslexic. And my job has been great as I am able to use an iPad for any spellings I need that really do you want to become a police officer and feel that I will pass every test other than the written one would be grateful if you let me know how you got on and where you are today. Many thanks Mandy
Hi there great video but left me quite disheartened as I really want to become a police officer. I am dyslexic and think I would fail on the written and grammar test which saddens me as I feel that I would be a great asset to the police force. I know and understand of the importance of being able to write reports and though there are many methods to accomplish that but unfortunately those methods can’t be used in a test and having five minutes longer in a test it’s not a great deal when you’re dyslexic unfortunately. It would be nice not to be penalised for being dyslexic. people have great things to offer. Any advice would be gratefully received many thanks Mandy.
Hi Mandy, don't be disheartened. The fact you have dyslexia has no bearing on your ability to be a Police Officer. From what I understand, the police force should give you reasonable adjustments in respect of taking the tests. Whilst I am not sure exactly what the adjustment is, it may be more time to complete it. My advice is to still definitely apply and let them know from the offset you are dyslexic. And always remember, we all have strengths to offer in life and you won't be penalised. Good luck!
Thanks I’m 14 and my ambition is to become a police officer I live in derby and I always think that there won’t be any jobs available so I think I shouldn’t try and become what won’t be available what should I do.

Do you teach the Police Constables that they take a Oath to the Queen to protect Common Law and Human Rights as a Police Constable? Do you teach the Police Constables about the ?Magna Carta 1215, Bill of Rights 1689, Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen, 1789,?
Hi there, no we don't do that here. We teach people how to pass the police officer selection process. Would you be interested in becoming a police officer?
Id only be interested in serving the Queen as a Police Constable under Oath to the Queen to protect and uphold Common Law and Human Rights, Sadly i am very sure if i joined the Police id be fired in no time because id Conduct as a Police Constable, Protecting and upholding Common Law and Human Rights above the Government Companies rules and policies to make profit from false claims on Humans.
Hi there, yes I believe you can join. Full details are here: www.policecouldyou.co.uk/police-officer/am-i-eligible/index.html If you need help with the selection process, get a copy of our guide at: www.how2become.com/careers/police-officer/ Good luck! Richard
while i'm willing to undertake any training necessary to be an effective police officer most of my life has been me working alone so i'm finding it difficult to offer up scenarios of conflict resolution or times i've shown empathy, is there another way to approach the assessment ?
I have hearing loss in one ear and I was rejected. I passed everything in the application stage with flying colours but when I got to the medical (the last hurdle before training) they turned me away. How is that fair? I'm clearly good enough to do the job. I worked really hard with physical fitness and learned criminal and traffic law for almost a whole year to prepare for it. I was even able to outrun my mate who is in the British Army. But one small thing I was fucking born with and they don't want me? And no, they wouldn't let me attempt a conversation test or use a hearing aid. It fucking sucks. Is there any advice for people in my position?
Sadly not dude I'm in a similar situation but with vetting because of a neighbour making false allegations. I have no convictions but because there is police intelligence against me (the allegations) they regularly reject my vetting. It's ridiculous.
Hello I’m Shahid I’m a British citizen I’m a SIA badge holder I was wondering if you can assist me in becoming s Police officer thank you I really hope and look forward to your reply
I'm only 13 but I would really like to become a police officer when I'm older. I do have one question though, do u have to have certain qualifications to apply to be a police officer?
From 16-18 you'll get one if you take it in college or 6th form. You can apply to the police when you become 18. In a year or two you'll choose your extra subjects with the help of a careers guidance councillor at school. They can point you in the right direction and there may be a specific path to take but a good English grade is the bare minimum. Forensics will require superior Science grades too, including Uni so bear that in mind.
Rachel xox In orde rto have the best chance at becoming a Police Officer you’ll need to do relatively well in your GCSE’s. After then, I would recommend that you take a Uniformed Public Services course at your local college (bear in mind that not all colleges offer this course) it will be a great foot in the door to prepare you for life in the Public Services
