@@el.aye.bee.4477 It depends what the motivation for the attack was. Given that there were no words exchanged, it would reason that the motivation for the attack was completely visual. As in the suspect saw what the victim looked like and based on that alone motivated the attack. However for it to be a hate crime it would have to be motivated by a protected identity. So if the suspect were to say "I just didn't like his shirt" then that wouldn't be a hate crime. However since hate crimes have gone up by 400% in the last year it's possible this was a hate crime. But we wont know until the suspect is questioned.
