Another thing that doesn't make sense is that if someone needed theur help or talk to a public servant there they can't do that according to their sign rules. That building and public servants in it should be open and available for public to go to. It can't be closed to the public

@@smifnwess93 Of all the audit channels I've watched in the last couple of years (and I've watched a LOT of them), SUFFOLK COUNTY POLICE is the worst. Corruption, non-enforcement of laws and enforcement of some of their Suffolk laws, murders, drugs... Hard to watch.

I'm not seeing argument but I would like to ask why exactly you think an audit has specific requirements that please your feelings? Like you I find it difficult to support auditors who seek to provoke, use unnecessary profanity etc. But then again I don't agree with a lot of messages people wish to share. That however doesn't mean a thing about how I feel about supporting their right to the message or their means of expressing it. An audit as you well know is not a test of the obvious and prestated but a report of performance based upon trial and investigation. Sometimes it really does take the things we don't like, approve of or support to test the real integrity of conviction and application. I'm sure audits would all have fairytale endings if we just let police do their own. Give permission, control the narrative and script the action. It might be a better world if we all acted rationally, politely and agreed on everything. Unfortunately reality exist and people are themselves different and often disagree. It is within this reality that we exist, that our government officials act. Not many situations worthy of note involving police also involve calm rational reasonable individuals. Usually on either side. From a public opinion/popularity standpoint the message is much more effective when the auditor is reasonable, calm and professional. The reality is, these audits are about free press, that anyone has the right to report to others. It's not about a profession of journalism or auditing. Not about teaching people proper public etiquette. These are meant to test the idea that these rights exist for every individual. That these rights are protected from government interference, intimidation, intervention or prohibition under color of law. So many auditors get charged with crimes like obstruction, failure to identify, disorderly, disturbing or trespass and often it has much to do with attitude. Yet these laws exist and sometimes even apply. That is what will lead to a more standardized form of auditing, the force of government. I for one deplore this but understand it to be a natural course especially if the public refuses to support the Rogues of the nation. If you do not support every individuals rights you support no individual rights. Long way to say that while not always pleasant some things are still necessary. You don't know a breaking point until you've exceeded it. That's the simple truth of an audit. If all auditors behaved like the few it might make a stronger message but if we allow individual rights to be fundamental we must allow individuals. Just some thoughts for a slightly different perspective. Not a critique of you personally, I just picked out those specific words from a well stated comment. Just some thoughts

To answer your question (hopefully): I just prefer professionalism, I enjoy watching more the interactions with people who aren't overly emotional and use insults as a crutch. I find a lot of these abrasive auditors have an axe to grind against police more than they want to protect our rights. As soon as I get the notion of someone who just doesnt like police, as opposed to correcting an issue, I get turned off and annoyed. I don't tell anyone how to do what they do but if I don't like it I am well within any reasonable boundaries to voice it and move on. I do, however, agree that as a police officer you will see various types of people and attitudes so that is a valid point and argument.

@@danielwood8135 Thank you for clarifying and I hope I did not offend. My response was to you but meant for anyone to read. I agree, some auditors turn me off. I don't have to like someone to support them or get along. I choose not to watch if I don't want to. Amagansett sometimes is too calm and talkative and sometimes I see him go a bit far the other way. Point being I could criticize even the best or defend even the worst. I enjoy some way more than others. I've spoken directly with auditors suggesting that their actions do represent to the public at large many people not associated except that they too might record something someday in public.. that there is some fear that negative public perception could actually do more harm than good. Currently Florida has a bill pending that could very easily criminalize auditing police. A county in Michigan is seeking to pass an ordinance prohibiting filming of public officials, public property, inside public buildings etc. These are the things I fear will be able to be done because people see auditors as annoying. Thank you for the original comment that provided the opportunity for me to express these thoughts. And truly thank you for the polite reply. I think we are like most people influenced by preference I fear though that such preference for some is confused with a right, a need and therefore converted toward a law. We outlawed stupidity and began constructing bars around the planet because we have no one still unconvicted.

Of course, we are never all going to agree 100% on the best possible approach but we can agree on what we want the end result to be. Also, I have seen Amagansett's videos and I know exactly what you mean about trending in both directions. I generally like his videos because when he does get rude or mean it's usually when, in my mind, I get frustrated too so I follow his train of thought. Anyway, have a great weekend.
