Drivers ignore a parked police car closing the road and drive around it onto the wrong side of the road, whilst emergency services attend a serious incident further down.
It makes sense that people with your mindset create this problems. There is literally a police car blocking the whole lane. But cars go into the opposite lane where they shouldn't be. How stupid is it to blame police afterwards?
Exactly. Same thing happened to me and my mum. She was driving down the main road at night (no streetlights) when we saw up ahead a car pulled to the side of the road, and a police car parked in front of it with an officer talking to the driver of the car behind through their window. No blue lights on. No tape. No signage. My mum, assuming the other car was being stopped, slowed down, came to a halt behind the other car, indicated to move around, waited until the police officer had seen that she was indicating with intent to go around, waited another few moments to see if there was any reaction, then started to pull around. Like a rabbit out a trap, another police officer burst from the police car right into the way of my mum's car. Fortunately she'd barely began to pull around so she hit the brakes on time. This police officer then begins to shout at her, insult her, belittle her, demean her, question whether she was drunk, question whether she was capable of driving etc. For the record my mum has been driving for over fifty years and has never got so much as a speeding or parking ticket. After literally five unbroken minutes of the police officer not only unleashing a tirade at us, but also talking over us the moment we tried to ask him what this was all about, he smugly harrumphed and said 'The road is closed! Did you not see the sign?!' before launching into another foul tirade. When he eventually stopped, my mum asked where this 'Road Closed' sign is. The police officer then, and I shall remember this to the day I die, marched over to the rear of the police car and pointed to a 'Road Closed' sign that was hidden from view of the roadway as it was placed between the boot of the police car and the bonnet of the car behind. When my mum said the sign being placed where it was means it isn't visible from the roadway, the police officer sneered again and snapped 'Well every other car has seen it!' My mum then asked if up until that point there had also been another car parked directly in front of the sign. The police officer made a dismissive gesture and quite literally told my mum to 'turn around and fuck off.' I shouted after him what was his name and collar number but he completely ignored me and got back into the car. Sometimes the police are right, but more often than not they're incompetent fools who know they can bully other people or the legal system into divesting all and any responsibility for their own idiocy from them.
Yes of course. A police car with its lights on means anyone can drive around a "Keep left" sign on the wrong side of the road just so they dont miss the last Greg's pastie. 🤡
@@pauls3075 Police car parked with lights on and no officers around can also be from officers leaving the car during the pursuit and continuing on foot after the chased criminal. Traffic management in emergency situations should teach that officers in the UK if not already.
Those Auris's are very comfortable and getting out of one without the imminent opportunity to handcuff a youth is beyond a lot of constables. Same when they head to McD's for their free junk food, drive through rather than enter and engage with the community!
You see, in their country, they'll just drive through where the police and paramedics are working, it doesn't matter if they hit anyone. So they think they do it here
There is always a "serious incident" in London. It isn't shocking to Londoners, who have become somewhat immune to it. They just try to make do and carry on.
Big non event. The police cars by themselves cannot direct traffic properly. I have on occasion (legally) driven round a police car which is blocking part of the road in various kinds of 'incident'. Police officers need to get out of their car and properly direct traffic in this type of situation. Otherwise you get confusion, which is what I am seeing on this video.
Sounds like you're part of the problem. It was parked blocking the entire road very clearly. You can see there is a lot of emergency vehicles further down... it's not rocket science...
@@ViperUK "Parked"? It was stationary for all of three seconds, and that in the middle of a poorly executed three point turn. He wasn't blocking the road off, he was ambling about confused about what he was doing which leads to other drivers getting confused as to what they are supposed to be doing. The gave _one_ hand signal, and that was a vague 'I don't know what's happening ' wave. If you turn to the back of your copy of the Highway Code there are hand signals that all drivers are expected to learn, understand and obey when used by police or traffic wardens to direct traffic. Shame our police driver never learned or remembered them, or got out of his car and used them. Utter incompetence at work.

And you somehow expect people to know that the police car being filmed isn't the subject of all this while the subject is out of shot? have you considered a career writing press releases for the government?

What road closure are you talking about? There isn't a single cone or crime scene tape or flashing light horse in sight. "Stupid" drivers are just supposed to telepathically know the road's closed
so the police vehicle closing off the lane with their car was not obvious. Please warn others when you drive so we can avoid the same space if that is your level of ability!

Maybe the use of a little intelligence would be useful, it’s pretty obvious what’s happening 500 metres further on, It also helps if you use your eyes and engage your brain.
I mean if a marked police car with its lights on, is actively blocking that section of the road doesn't tell you that something is obviously going on you shouldn't be behind the wheel of a vehicle.
Lazy cop cannot get out of the sitting position, and expects people to know what he's thinking. Just waving his arm. There is an England flag, down there, hence the massive police presence.
I see no stupidity. I just see drivers being stopped from normal activity and being confused . What else are drivers supposed to do when their way is blocked without any explanation or any means or information of taking alternative routes? I think you are a bit high and mighty in your condemnations.
A police car blocking the road with its flashing lights on with a dozen other emergency vehicles further down the road clearly dealing with an incident doesn't require much intelligence to figure our what's going on...
Well, with 2 tier policing and an entire section of sciety exempt from following laws, what did they think would happen? If that section of society can live here law free, then why should we follow and obey laws?
