You guys are the very best and most comforting walkers. The videos are stunning, top quality and pay attention to all details. Amazing vibes. Keep it up 🎉
Dear Jack, thank you so much.. Reading such a comment is truly something for a small creator and channel like this... I truly thank you and I hope to always bring interesting and new content. Wish you a nice weekend, Riccardo
Glad you enjoyed also Polignano dear Andrei, loved the Modugno statue too for some reason. I think it's hard to notice because they are reversed, but in the main street outside the city centre every 10 meters or so there are the lyrics of the song "Volare" up in the street, which illuminate at night. Quite neat I found out. I also filmed Polignano a Mare by night, with so... many tourists, it was incredible. I'll post it in the near future. Wish you a nice Sunday
Beautiful walk thank you Riccardo.... I enjoyed it so much wandering around those narrow streets and a fascinating history... well researched .....beautiful drone and camera work. 😊 🌻🌈
Glad you enjoyed it Dear Cynthia, Polignano in a way is "a must" in Puglia. But I'll show also lesser known towns. Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for your words. Wish you a nice weekend 👌
Gorgeous town! Love all the greenery with splashes of colour of the flowers. Also such a beautiful coastline (we have beautiful coastlines here too, but we don't have the beautiful old towns). I always like how you detour to lanes and passageways that are not where the tourists are. Also how you show the doorways and walls with interesting decorations/plants. Your drone footage is superb, getting better and better. Truly enjoyed the walk😊
Glad you enjoyed it Dear Geraldine, and always happy to read from you! The colours in Puglia are vivid, alive. And the flowers with the whitewashed building facades create spectacular game of colours there. So much different from here, like in another country. Always love going there! I hink I'll upload only the Puglia videos I made lately in the next 2-3 weeks, so other 5-6 videos of other towns. But I'm planning to return, time and money permitting, in July. Fingers crossed.
Glad you enjoyed it Dear Sudip, friend, I was wondering if you like this too. There will be other Puglia videos the following weeks. Wish you a nice weekend and a big Ciao from Rome, Riccardo
Glad you enjoyed it Dear Tonie, indeed, it was one of the first days where the restrictions eased off... People truly wanted to get out and live again. It's even better now without masks outside. Let's just hope it will continue to stay like this.. fingers crossed. Wish you a nice weekend ahead!
Your beautiful videos have convinced us our trip next year will be to the Puglia region. Thank you for introducing these stunning towns to us. Cheers🇨🇦
Glad to see you again Pretty Privilege, and glad I was able to convince you to go to Puglia region. Indeed, as you said, stunning is the word. I am from near Rome and... before this hobby I didn'tt know it so well. In fact, thanks to this I'm not in love as well, and consider it one of the most beautiful region in Italy. I'm planning actually to go back this summer and film some other towns
I adore all the golden stonework in Italy & Southern France - it is so beautiful. This town's ancient lanes & hidden corners are a delight, and flower pots & climbing plants make it all such a pleasure. Thank you for this lovely video. This is one of my favorite hobbies now - visiting the places in Europe I will not be able to go - too old for travel now - but with your help I can see as many places as there are videos ! That sea is so blue it takes your breath away !
I have actually visited Puglia about 8 years ago, staying in an old Masseria down near Gallipoli. As I was already the old bird in the group I stayed by the pool & relaxed letting the younger ones go exploring, but I loved the olive trees & enjoyed the shade of the old garden. Thing is I really had no idea how beautiful other parts of Puglia actually are & what I had missed !!!
Ah yes, there's so MUCH to see in Puglia! I now filmed quite a lot I must say though,.. everytime I find a new town which wasn't expected... I filmed also Polignano at night... it seemed like a different city altogether I must add
I pray and pray that the beautiful old towns of Puglia don't explode in popularity and become flooded with tourists the way Venice is... it seems these towns have gone unnoticed to the international community for some reason - and sometimes I worry that these beautiful alley ways will soon be jam packed with tour groups, real estate will sky rocket, people living there will be pushed out or forced to adapt to the tourism, and gift shops and such will fill the spaces....... oh PLEASE don't let that happen, Puglia, please!!
ewwitsantonio thank you so much! I agree with you 100% as the idea behind this channel was, mostly ,to show the "unusual" towns of Italy (if you see in the main page, some of them are truly tiny and quite unknown...) Polignano is still rather famous but not as famous as the more "posh" ones... and I too hope it'll stay that way. I also did a "night" walk there, you can see how it seems like a completely different city.... stunning place, I wish I could go back... it seems already ages ago I was there
At the same time, look at how many shops in the alleyways are catering to tourists. Maybe ecotourism is their livelihood. They live right on the coast.
We happened onto his stunning place on the day of the annual int’l diving competition, positioned ourselves front row on the bridge before we knew what was about to take place. It was one of the highlights and special memories of our Sept 2019 trip to Italy and Croatia. Can’t wait to go back!
I ADORE THESE LITTLE VILLAGE TOWNS WITH THEIR QUAINT NARROW STREETS...EVERY TURN IS A FEAST FOR THE EYES...LOVE ITALY...HOPE TO LIVE THERE ONE DAY...;)
The intro to your vlogs are fantastic and ranks on the same level if not far better than what you see on tv. Truly superb quality 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 My jealousy level is a six right now almost seven. You have captured so many beautiful sites. You are doing a wonderful job for someone that says it's just a hobby. Fabulous vlog my friend Fabulous vlog... jealous level is at an 8 now 😢😂😢😂😢😂😢😂
Dear Lawsonartzy, truly Thank You for your words, hard to say more.. just touched reading something like this .. level 8 is still a good level though) I work during the week and it's not possible to travel but during weekends, whenever I can of course, and whenever I have time for it, I can't wait to move around. It's becoming like a "medicine" for curing the stressful daily job life too I must say. Up until now it's been possible..I hope in the future too though future is always unpredictable so.. let's hope. Wish you a nice weekend! Riccardo
Glad you enjoyed it Dear Gabriela. It's indeed a special place... I think I'll be back soon there for a new film maybe in a different light (night?). Wish you a beautiful weekend ahead
Great video. It is impressive how they keep streets and buildings at the top of deep caves carved by the sea. It is just frightening for me. Another interesting thing I noticed is the two colors of the sea : The blue (probably deep waters) and the turquoise color near the cost in a clear separation. The City seems to be backing to normal life with people in the streets and restaurants. A very nice City indeed.
Agreed Ivan, the cliffs near the houses was a little discomforting to see.. Polignano is a real gem. I uploaded a night tour of it too...it seems like a different city altogether
Many countries have countless amazing things to see, and a few hidden gems. Italy is the opposite : many known amazing things to see, but countless hidden gems. And hopefully, with Roma’s mayor out, the ungovernable city can build itself back from what seems to have been 5 years of neglect.
Hugo, hi again! That's just exactly what I also think and the main idea behind this little channel - trying to show places which are, more often than not, off the beaten path but which are indeed hidden gems. Agreed about Rome 100%! LEt's hope this time at least it will be cleaned properly - that's what people need and first and foremost want , as well as safety I must add...
Riccardo
I was rewatching that vid Ric, and I had a question: seems stupid, but those who love of the very edge of the land, whose house seems to be built above the « caves »... where do the sewage go? The houses seem to be built on solid rock. Are there pipes under there somehow???
Ciao Hugo, it's actually a good question and to be honest I also thought about something similar while there... don't really know an answer though! I would be curious to have a chat sometimes with someone from there again and.... maybe I will... planning to go back to Puglia at the beginning of June to continue exploring that region as I did last year. In case I'll ask this question if I see that the person whom I am speaking to is a "knoweledgble" one in such things ) Quite curious systems perhapsb they use... or ancient ducts? Don't really know
@@StillWanderer There is a channel called Salento with love, where the « host » (Davide if I recall) posts videos about houses for sale in Salento, and gives homebuying tips. One of the tips was to verify that the house was connected to both running water AND sewer, as toilets would, back in the day, simply flush right into a cesspool deep under the house. So here, I don’t know but… could it go straight into the sea?
Some of us Westerners might be thinking how we can retire here. Maybe you were thinking, we've always lived here and we just need your money. It's a win win.
Dear Odilson, thank you so much! Loved Polignano myself too I must say... Puglia is something else.. I love my region, Lazio and Rome, but going there is like going to another planet for sure. I'll post more about this region in the following weeks for sure

Beautiful town but some of those houses are sitting precariously on top of rocks that are being battered (and eaten) by the sea. I hope they shore it up with some concrete rip rap to at least save and preserve the beautiful coast line.
How you see our lovely places: come voi vedete i nostri bei posti e li presentate in "bouquet" come questi per invogliare a visitarli.
A volte è facile, a volte quasi impossibile... Però mi piace molto. Preferisco i piccoli paesi come vedi, quelli meno noti, ma anche ultimamente posti famosi. Finché troverò piacere spero di continuare, ecco
Great idea Prince Leo, didn't think of going there but.. I should be in Puglia again in July, I'll try to also go to Lecce. Stunning city, last time I was there in 2018
So you're walking around at 10:30 in the morning and 86 degrees while we on Vancouver Island think we're going to die tomorrow when it goes to 81 degrees. And next weekend? Up as high as the low 90's. Whatever will we do? We prefer the normal 70ish temps here. We're snowflakes.
Hah Sharon, yes, in a way it's a blessing, in another it's a curse, it truly depends. I'm more of a "cold weather" kind of guy though, so when it's that hot I truly sweat and suffer. But enjoyble nonetheless for sure. Wish you a nice Sunday
