POLISCAN Speed has taken speed monitoring to a new level in this respect. Using sophisticated lidar measurement technology, the system permanently and fully automatically detects, tracks and measures all vehicles in several lanes and up to two directions of travel at the same time, and can also measure incoming and outgoing traffic.
Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) overcomes the disadvantages of conventional sensor technology and is a future-proof solution. The completely non-contact measurement method ensures more precise speed measurement and does not require any complex installations in the road surface. Depending on the traffic situation, POLISCAN Speed registers several times more offences than conventional technology. The scanning laser detects each vehicle with a large number of measuring points, thus laying the foundation for reliable, safe and precise speed enforcement. This results in the seamless detection of offences even in heavy traffic. The lidar measurement technology used makes it easy to precisely allocate speeding offences to the respective vehicle, even when driving in parallel. Traffic and weather conditions have no influence on the quality of the measurement results. As POLISCAN is a platform solution, POLISCAN Speed can be used in different housings at almost any urban location - stationary, mobile or semi-stationary.
