😄😄😄😄 we had the best time exploring Polish food culture! We had plans to return to film more but unfortunately the virus stymied us. Hope we can return soon. Thanks for watching and commenting Adam. Cheers, Sheena
😍😍😍 us too! It’s belly warming isn’t it?! We’d love to visit Puerto Rico one day! The food culture looks awesome. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Sheena
Hope you can get there one day soon Susan! It’s a neat place to travel around. We ate really well there 😍 Thanks for watching and commenting, keep safe and healthy. Cheers, Sheena
Milk bars were always my favourites places to eat home style Polish food. Milk bars are a chain of simple eateries where inexpensive dishes are freshly cooked everyday and they remind me my childhood. I really hope they will never disappear and will always be there serving fresh home style food to the community. I miss milk bars so much. 💞
My fiancé is waiting for me in Poland. Can’t wait go there to see him again and taste this delicious cuisine, when all this painful situation will get better 🥺
I was born and raised in Krakow - left it for the UK in my 20ties. Every time I go back I take a cab from the airport straight to the nearest Milk Bar to enjoy those great flavours... before catching up with my family 🙃 Great video guys - love your enthusiasm and deep dive into the culture - much love and happy travels!
😍 what a neat travel tradition to have! It must immediately make you feel like you’ve arrived home! Thanks for watching and for your kind words. We loved exploring Krakow and can’t wait to return to Poland to see more of the country one day! Cheers, Sheena
Totally agree mate! It’s a neat country to travel in isn’t it? Thanks for watching and commenting, so glad this video brought back happy memories. Cheers, Sheena
We had a wonderful time travelling there and met some lovely, welcoming people. Thanks for watching and commenting, hope you enjoyed this video. Cheers, Sheena
Nice to see more and more people who are enyoing our polish culture, architecture, traditional food and other best things from our heritage. Looking forward to go back in Poland soon for 3 weeks of holidays. Kotlet mielony with the mashed potatoes and hot beetroot on my table it's a must.
Comfort food!! Bet you miss Poland- are you able to access good Polish food where you live now? We had a fantastic time and hope to be able to return soon. Thanks for watching and commenting mate. Cheers, Sheena
@@ChasingaPlate I live in Switzerland right now so it's difficult to find polish restaurant in the nearby but I love cooking too so I am able to prepare polish specialities at home :)

We LOVED it Peter Szafel! We're only disappointed we didn't get to experience more of it as our time was cut short by the virus. Hope we can return soon. Thanks for watching and commenting mate. Cheers, Sheena
Thanks so much for watching and commenting mate. We loved the Bar Mleczny we visited in Krakow- honest, good home cooked food. And like you say, such great prices. Can't wait to visit more when we return in a couple of weeks. Which is your favourite bar mleczny? Cheers, Sheena
😍 we loved the snow! And all that hearty food 🤤 Bet you guys have such great memories from there. Thanks for watching and commenting guys. Cheers, Sheena

We loved our time there so much! We were meant to return to see, eat and film more but sadly the current situation means we weren’t able to. Hopefully we can return soon. Do you get back often? Thanks for watching this one. Cheers, Thomas 😀
@@ChasingaPlate Im flying there twice a year. And always waiting for some meals made by my Dad. Next time you have to try bigos(sauerkraut with meats, mushrooms, herbs, honey, red wine - like a cabbage stew) slow cooking like 4 to 6 hrs. Amazing!!! Good luck guys with your next journeys 🤘🤘🤘
Home cooking is the best! Bigos was on the list of things to eat on our return 😝 we’ll definitely hunt it down on our next trip 😀 stay safe and healthy mate. Cheers, Sheena
You make me feel a bit nostalgic; I was in Poland (Katowice, Warsaw & Krakov) both before and after the "Changes". Of all the things I remember about Poland, the kindness of the people and the FOOD ! Enjoy yourselves! An Old Cold Warrior

Amazing! I´m going to Poland in September with a friend. Our goal is visit the Auschwitz concentration camp, because we are historian, but we going pass one week in Krakow. The linguague and the culture are very different (we are portuguese) and we are a little afraid, but very enthusiastic too. I hope we try a lot of polish foods and visit that restaurants you show in vídeo (our hotel it´s very close). I hope Thomas gets better fast. Great hug from Portugal. I love your vídeos!
Hi Lígia Laginha, thanks so much for watching and commenting mate. How neat that you'll be heading to Poland in a few months. We loved Krakow and can't wait to head back to finish the series. Enthusiasm is all you need 😄 Bet you'll have a great time. Hope the rest of our series will help with your eating itinerary when you visit. We went out to Auschwitz and it was a confronting and sobering experience but it was important for us to go. Thanks so much for the well wishes- we are just working out how we can get over to Portugal soon- I am SO desperate to visit! Cheers, Sheena
Poland is one of the safest countries in Europe. Lots of friendly people. Lots of food and places to visit. It's all really cheap. Don't be afraid and enjoy your time!!!
Hi Ligia - My suggestion, before you order food in Poland, is to buy a jar or canned sauerkraut, look up some recipes via google and make it at home. This way you can get your pallet use to it. Trust me, it's way, way different from the foods you are accustomed to eating. I'm a Canadian Pole and even I have a tough time with it after not eating it for decades. There's Polish Bigos (I prefer this dish), then the sauerkraut soup, which is not just a Polish dish, sauerkraut is big in Germany, Russia, Ukraine, all Eastern Block countries. Just google: polish sauerkraut recipes in youtube and watch some videos on how to cook it.
Milk bars... how much I loved them when I lived in Poland. Sometimes they offered daily menus. As Poland is deeply Catholic, they eat fish on Fridays. Some of these bars offer fish as well on Fridays.
Hi mate, thanks for watching and commenting! We just loved the milk bar culture- I hope we can get back to Poland one day soon to experience more of it. Ah yes I did read that some of the spots serve fish on a Friday. Hope you enjoyed this video! Cheers, Sheena

Spent many an afternoon/evening at her home eating almost what you just showed us. Her mom always had pierogi at every meal. Grace taught me my first foreign language bad word, technically. idź do domu i idź spać. Go home and go to bed. Thank you, for going to Poland. It was Paczki day a fews ago, Grace and many others sent me cheers. Again, I'm grateful to hear both your voices on the same meal. Excellent vlog, thank you for show casing my childhood favorite meals. Technically, because we both said it to nuns at our Catholic school, guess suggesting sleeping a bad thing. Thank you. Brought smiles to me.

My mouth is drooling watching you guys eating!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a show ,I think one of the best one yet. I would like you guys to explore the small towns and villages , maybe northeast of Poland(that's where I come from) . And try food made by regular folks and farmers. Anyway just an idea. Thanks for good memory and stay safe.

Funny thing but the soup is called "kapuśniak" which means "cabbage soup". You say it's perfect for a rainy day? When it slightly rain all day long, for example in autumn, the rain is called "kapuśniaczek" which means "tiny cabbage soup" 😁
I also noticed the soup. It looks delicious. I love soups and stews with meat. It's my kind of "comfort food". There must be a lot of dishes like this in Poland because it's a country that has cold winters.
Hey, I'm so glad that you're in Poland for the very first time! Polish foods looks so good that you'll to try it for sure, epic food adventure video guys. 😀👍

@@ChasingaPlate ;) gimme a holla if your in Lublin. I'll let you know about less know things to see. Savoir vivre used to be very big in Poland before the communism.
@@ChasingaPlate Hell Im in quarantine right now. so i'll just write it down now: 1. Kardamon restaurant in Lublin - best restaurant in town, a must have is the beef tartar. Lublin is cheap, a restaurant of this quality will cost you 3x as much in warsaw. 2. Bosko icream parlor in Lublin - best iceream in town 3. Lard on bread with a pickle - just from street vendors in the old town 4. Cebularz - local type of bun with baked onions on top 5. Vanila cafe in lublin - just get their flower shaped cookies. They are well known for them, you can even get them in stores, but that's where they make em. 6. Get some proper polish doughnuts called Pączki. 7.As for bars: go to "U szewca". Best to come in the summer during "Jarmark Jaggielloński" or "Carnaval Sztukmistrzów". Once your done with Lublin you have two places you have to see. Those are: Kazimierz Dolny and Zamość. In Zamość just go around the town. In Kazimierz Dolny there are a few places: 1. Obligatory visit to the Sarzyński Bakery, you'll recognize them by the giant bread rooster outside. The bread roosters are traditional but i recommend getting some "Kulebiak" its a local delicacy sweet pastry with cabbage and mushrooms inside. 2. For food go to "Batumi", yeh it's not Polish but you have to try their whole pickled walnuts. You can tell them that the guy who once won a whole jar of pickled watermelon skins sent you;) 3.If your up for a 45 min hike you should go along the river, pass the town, pass the quarry, through the forest and all the way to Mięćmierz. And snap some great photos next to the windmill on the river bank. There is plenty more but i think this is more than enough for one trip. Ofc after the virus goes way. What i gave you here is not know by the turists mostly so that will make for some unique footage. The turistyy stuff you can find on your own. Hope you like it.;)
If I ever make it to Poland Im heading directly to the restaurant for that pork knuckle. Ive seen it made in Germany, but finished in a wood burning oven - brilliant.
I was born in Krakow in 1978, I never lived there but it is one of my favorite cities to visit. I haven’t been in Poland in 31 years since I left for the USA as a 13 years old kid, I can wait to see Wawel and eat zapiekanki again.
