I completely respect that opinion! I mentioned in the video the original shrouds look best, and I still have them..! Just like playing around with the bikes a bit. I hope you can appreciate that it has a fresh powder coat, all new steering and suspension bearings/crank/piston etc.. Im currently editing all of that, so hope to share soon! @@tieNagle Oh absolutely i truly admire people who take care after their bikes especially in a world of fourstrokes. Carmichaels last rm factory and the SOBE bikes the previous years were some of my favorites. So everytime i see a Suzuki i get flashbacks to the good old times.

I literally have been so ****ING torn between wanting to install an RMZ front fender or the Restyle fender because of this EXACT reason! It's driven me ****ing crazy how some Restyle kits look sick AF, and others point down at the ground like it's some knock off chinese version frender or something.

Thanks, and good eye, I got it as kind of a hodgepodge build I took on. The frame and engine are 01, so I went with that..!

Haha yeah, I've actually already heated it up and tried to lower it but didnt want to do too much and deform it. This bike came in a box with a mix of 01-05 parts, and im starting to find out that the shock/swingarm have different lengths and mounting points. It definitely sits really high, Im thinking that is a factor as well.. And I actually just got a Pro Circuit restyle kit for the 03-05 KX 125! Its not just plastics though, its mounting hardware for a 2020 subframe so you can use a new gas tank/seat/airbox and plastics!

@@Shipman37x They dont sell them directly, so I think us consumers are just the will of whoever hasnt sold out, and maybe checking with those distributors on when their shipments are coming in!...?!

Yeah, I noticed that on mine too when I did the graphics. I tried tucking mine in and they wouldn't so the seat is just kind of sitting on top of it now... Thanks though, i'll post the graphics soon!

Yeah, that thing shoots straight up in the air.

It looks more normal with it on the ground and weight on it, but I have found the subframes bent..!! yay craigslist haha

Hey! I think it would be a great first bike, aside from being a ‘youth/child’ of course. The power isn’t too high, parts are really cheap and maintenance is easy on 2 strokes. A 4 stroke would be more predictable/smooth/consistent power if you are worried about it. My first bike was a kx125 when I was 15. That is a standard high market value, I would think going into winter and if its not in amazing shape, you could get one 3-500 cheaper. I paid $500 for this but the engine was completely trashed and the whole bike was in a box disassembled and has needed a lot of little parts/bearings/bolts. Keep me posted!

Yeah, I thought it was a tweaked subframe but now I'm learning their rear shock/linkage was different throughout the years so it might be from that... so annoying!

@@tieNagle I think that just how it is, Rachet strap it down to the rear rim and use a heat gun

pjbarr96 yeah I totally agree. I put a stock fender on and it was high too.. looking into the subframe a little further, it looks like a tab broke and they welded it back on all willy-nilly.. so I’ll have to mess with that. I would hate to melt that fender down and end up worse off haha!

Also the bike is on the stand which makes the back wheel drop which makes it look even worse because the gap is bigger 😬

Thank you very much! I agree there are aspects of this original bike I love. I probably would have only bough the rear plastics and kept a more 'age appropriate look' but that wasn't an option when I was buying. Do you have an RM?

Hey! It has the same holes to fit the newer bike, but not the bracket for a conversion. You would have to find a bracket or drill holes to put it on an older bike.. I wish they sold these pieces separately!

This is the original RM seat. The fitment is a little off, the numberplate flaps dont quite tuck under all the way.

No, it wouldn’t be a direct fit. I have a 2007 RMZ450, the bolt patterns appear to be different. The shroud uses 3 bolts instead of 2 and the new subframe is mounted higher on the frame so it would change those mounting points. I guess you could always try to make mounting brackets though!

Caiden long haha you’re fine, no unfortunately it won’t. It’s only meant to fit the 2001 and newer RM125 and 250.. you could still do the front fender and number plate update though!

Yeah, Polisport makes these to mount exactly onto the 2001 and newer RM125 and RM250, but it is just the shape/design of the current RMZ model.

Glen Smith I don’t think you’ll have an issue! I tried a stock fender and it was off a bit too..

It is definitely a problem with the fender and not the subframe (it may possibly be a little bent still) but I have the kit too, and it points upwards like the one in the video. When I had the stock fender on it was perfectly straight as it should be. For more pictures and info I recommend checking out a thread on Vital MX called "Polisport RM restyle kit coming??"

@@lewismx8815 Ok I'll check it out, but I think I have found the area where my subframe is tweaked and potentially bent up. I'm trying to find one in good condition for comparisons so I dont start bending this one and ruining it...

They didnt advertise that it was so I doubt it, but I also have a 2007 RMz450, I'll see if it fits and let you know!

It doesnt fit, the angles are different and the mounting points are much further apart on the RMZ450.. sorry!

It was a random eBay purchase. I usually go MotoSeat, but I couldn't find the neon ribs for this bike so just pulled the trigger on this. Actually turned out to be great quality and fitment..!

@@tieNagle not yet coz I try to get a bike rm 125 2000 model and try to make like that but I just wandering if they always come with the bracket for the front fender and the other one

This kit doesn't, sorry! They just made it to line up to the 2001 + RM125 and 250s.. I dont think they make one that fits that model either.

No, they only fit the 2001-2008 RM models.. you should upgrade though!

It’s a 2001, but the swingarm is from a 2003.

Yeah I was really impressed with the quality. Im curious though, do you not like the look of the new RMZ's? Or just the way the new plastics work with the old RM tank?

@@tieNagle it just doesn’t work with the tank. Also the rear fender points to far up. I do think the original plastic has a good look, and if Polisport corrected the rear fender and made the radiator shrouds fit better I’d even consider them.
