Whenever I think of political systems I think of our system in the United States but there are so many different political systems around the world. This video did a great job of breaking down different political systems and what are the benefits and disadvantages that come with each form of the political system.

My family immigrated to the United States during the Vietnam War. I'm somewhat familiar with the government systems around the world as I often hear about the restrictions the elders in my family mentioned growing up. I've always been grateful being born in the states as I heard there were more cons than pros regarding the government and political systems in my home country and surrounding countries. I'm sure most of us leans toward democracy as that is how the United States operate, although I'm glad this video included dictatorship and totalitarianism as well as the differences between these political systems and how it affects their citizens. This video provides insight as to how different countries govern their people.

Personally, I hadn't previously discerned the distinct separation between dictatorship and totalitarianism, and the video elucidates it clearly. Dictatorship revolves around the SOURCE of governing power, typically a single individual, while totalitarianism centers on the SCOPE of governing power, with a single party suppressing any alternative party or individual with differing perspectives.

Before watching this video, I had no idea that totalitarianism could take various forms, including communist, theocratic, and tribal systems. Understanding how each type can influence the global economy alongside other forms of government was eye-opening. It's a clear demonstration of the interconnectedness of our world, where even seemingly obscure changes can create significant ripples affecting entire nations for better or worse. Being born and raised in the US I really only ever saw one time of political system. It wasn't until I got older that I started learning that not every country does things the same as the US. This video did a great job a showing another type of system, Totalitarianism. Also, its four different types, Communist, Theocratic, Tribal, and Right-Wing.

This video helped to summarize not just the different forms of power around the world, but also how people can enter into those leadership positions. Obviously nobody is going to elect a dictator that kills people or lowers their quality of living, but they don't always have a vote. Sometimes people can seize power through other means than a simple election. This video does an excellent job covering that.

Living in the United States, I am obviously biased to a representative democracy since it is all I have ever known, but I thought one advantage from totalitarianism that was worth mentioning was how their is one person who makes one decision and that is where all resources are allocated. Versus having to check off multiple different boxes and jump through different hoops. Overall, I still believe that democracy is a superior political system to totalitarianism.

Our form of government is not prefect, our representatives do not always do what they has promised to us before taking office, but it is far better than some other form of government.

I always think it is interesting to dicuss the diffrences in political systems. I think we often forget that other countries do not hold the same rights. Additionally, I think it is important to adress, as it was in the video, that in a representational democracy, officals are not obligated by law to act in accordinace with the peoples wishes.
