I’m a United States citizen and this right here ties in to an idea that runs through my head from time to time, where dissatisfied Rightwing conservative Republican people and dissatisfied Leftwing liberal Democrat people leave their respective separate political parties to form a new political party that I like to call “ The Washingtonite Political Party “ That shares ideas from both parties that the members agree with BUT does Not share ideas from their former parties that they don’t agree with !

Yes. Getting ppl to take a really in depth test would be difficult...which really disappoints me because the results would be so much more interesting :D

I like your videos. I have been raised in Pentacostal churches my whole life. I am 25 now and have finally started questioning what I've been taught. I don't think I will ever become an Athiest, but I find it interesting that many of the points you make in your videos are some of the same conclusions I've come up with through my investigating. But who knows? I never imagined I would be questioning my religion, maybe someday I will question if there is a God or not also? Keep posting

I know what you mean. I wasn't raised in a Christian church, but I had some sense of the supernatural. For many years I was a deist - believing in some kind of supernatural being. But within the last 10 years or so, I've dropped that too, and embraced "rational naturalism" (I guess you could call it). I'm actually happier for it. Life seems much more beautiful and amazing when you realize there isn't some puppet master behind everything.

Well it wasn't pure fail, but it was a little simple for some sort of political compass. It will probably be mostly biased. If you already think you are something, then the results probably won't surprise you. The entire time I was thinking they could ask conceptual questions that tackle different ethical dilemmas and maybe it could be less biased that way. They could maybe put you in different situations and force you to make a decision.

Well, I currently have 29 atheist and only 11 theist, so it's not a complete balance, but I can make a follow up video and hopefully I'll get more theist responses.

Ah. Gotcha.

The problem is, if you tried to get all tricky with tough ethical questions... how exactly do you put that on a scale? I think the questions it asks are representative of the axes used (left/right, authoritarian/libertarian). I'm sure you could do a much more in-depth test, but then no one would take it, because it would take too long. ;)

I've known about and loved the political compass for years... I'm an Atheist, and am about -7, -7, so more socialist than you area.

I dunno. So maybe it isn't horrible, but it isn't too good of an indicator imo
