In the words of a Romanian youtuber, and I'm paraphrasing, "My apathy will last longer than how long these companies can stay solvent." If push comes to shove, I leave. All this crap, through all the industries, have taught people to easily stop caring about their old favorite IPs. I'll just start going outside and find something else while they start bankrupting.
I assure you there are a ton of books (and comics/manga) dating back 1000+ years that you could read and would fit your interests. I assure you there are a ton of movies, TV shows/anime dating back 100 years you could watch and would fit your interests. I assure you there are a ton of video games dating back 40 years that you could play and would fit your interests. If modern entertainment is for the modern audience of 25,000 people or less, then they will have to financially prop up every one of these industries, but those of us who these are not for have no shortage of things to spend our free time on.
@@ninjafoxgamesgeekery Way ahead of you on books. Comics not so much for me. As for games, it has been 25 years of a lot of MMOs and plenty of other things. After a while, it loses a lot of meaning. I may just be losing interest in it, after so long. Oh well.
Basically you confirmed Endymion. This is weird. But something similar my wife saying to. She told me there are a lot of freelance devs and qa job list. Well she is working as QA.
The video game industry, and film industry, need to recall that all this political activism was still available to them in the 80s, 90s, and early 2000s. You just pick your projects properly. Ubisoft pumped out annual Assassin's Creed games for a while. They were a tad formulaic, but they were also successful. That let them also develop Child of Light and Valiant Hearts, smaller and less costly projects. Movie studios used to put out their Bruckheimer or Michael Bay films because they were safe, mindless fun popcorn action flicks. They made millions of dollars. The studios then could take risks on indie art house films without the same level of risk. If Marvel Studios had released She Hulk exactly as it was with two absolute banger films before and two absolute banger films after, it wouldn't have been such an uproar (except with She-Hulk fans who felt it was an insult to the character). You can do the political/social commentary films or games, you just can't make every film or game a political/social commentary project. Similarly, if a studio had major franchise success making crazy amount of money, followed it with a game like Dustborn, and then another major franchise within 6 months of Dustborn, then Dustborn becomes a niche game for a niche audience. Everyone COULD have what they want at the same time, but the activists are insistent that only their games for tiny audiences be made to the exclusion of all else.
Oh, yeah! I forgot that WoW's factions are pretty much bffs now. No enmity and animosity whatsoever between them. Always a "greater, unfathomable evil" to defeat together... as a FAMILY. I think I'm gonna hurl.
@@Willbotx Oh that's known and old news to me. I puked my guts out when I watched it, lol. The cringe levels were off the charts. But I am talking about the new expansion. Acco's footage shows " The War Within" content, no? Seeing Horde and Alliance training and preparing together to defeat this new, big baddie... oof. Thank the Emperor, I stopped playing WoW years ago. Too bad I didn't stop sooner, though.
Believe me I know. I gave up on things I used to love like Sony years ago and I used to support them heavily. Ever since they enforce their censorship policy I turned away from them and never looked back because I knew what that meant. I saw a lot of things that happened far too easily ever since the early days of gamergate when things were getting censored and added a bunch of nonsense to it, and it just kept steadily getting worse over time. But nobody wanted to believe that and some even think it was a good thing if it eliminated any aspect of the things they hated personally. Now the industry is on the verge of collapse and I for one have become so apathetic that I can't bring myself to care anymore. In the words Adam Crowley from one of an old video games Nightmare Creatures: *I toast your destruction.*
меня поражает как люди стремящиеся к свободе самовыражения почему-то тянуться в сторону комунизма, не смотря на все свидетельства людей выживших при "комунизме"
