It only works under contract, monopoly or some other form of force. Groceries have a very low profit margins. Just an example Kroger net profit margin has been less than 2% to negative last 4 quarters. Take out the millions you think the execs make and you’re not denting 5 pennies an item they sell.

The reality is, RvW meant "people within the Federal government get to decide whether or not you can do this thing." Note, the courts cannot CREATE LAWS, according to the Constitution (the "employee handbook" for our government workers, at any level). Nor can the President, or the bureaucrats. It's the LEGISLATURE branch that makes law ("legislates"). The Executive branch enforces, or "executes," the law. And it's the Judicial branch which JUDGES (interprets) the law. RvW was never "the law," simply because it did not come up through the legislature as a law. Rather, it was the Judicial exceeding its authority by claiming it could create law. In reality, the Constitution says that "those powers not granted to the United States by the Constitution are reserved to the states, or to the people." In other words, if the Constitution doesn't explicitly say "the Federal government has this authority," the Federal government is PROHIBITED from saying ANYTHING, pro or con, about that topic. State governments are allowed to individually address those topics, or to ignore them and leave the matter entirely to us, but the Feds are not allowed to speak to it at all. Remember, the Constitution is law, it's just the highest law we have. Every other law is subordinate to it... Federal law comes next, but has to operate under the conditions set out in the Constitution. State law is next, subordinate to both the Constitution and Federal law. Local laws come next. Only then can "regulations" be considered... and unless they are representations of valid laws (following the above heirarchy), they have no authority at all. They are "executions of the law." All regulations come from the Executive branch, remember. Roe V. Wade was always, literally, ILLEGAL... because it gave Federal government employees power over something the Constitution says they have no say over. The repeal of this DECISION by the current court was simply a recognition that the prior court had claimed that power over all of us illegally. The Constitution says that power, over abortion, is none of the Federal government's business. Trump is actually the first candidate, or President, in my not-so-short life, who has reacted this way. Who has not said "I will outlaw it" OR "I will permit it." Because NEITHER is something anyone in the Federal government is permitted to do. It's actually pretty damned refreshing. And the exact OPPOSITE of what a would-be "dictator" would say. No dictator or dictator-wanna-be has ever said "I don't have power over that, and I shouldn't have power over that."

I am pretty open to discussion on issue of abortion. I don't necessarily agree with the heartbeat bills. Especially texas, which only has exceptions for the mothers life and no exceptions if there is something wrong with a baby. You can not know at 6 weeks if you have a healthy baby. I'm not talking eugenics or anything. But say you have a baby with trisomy 13, which is not compatible with life, and you find out around 18 weeks. I absolutely support a mother terminating a pregnancy like that. So i don't support the far right. I also don't understand the left position on this issue, wanting no time limits on abortion. People like Trump will say they don't want elective(no medical reason) late term abortions. The left will say that isn't happening. That's it. The entire response is that isnt happening. Well, great, if it doesn't happen, then you shouldn't have a problem putting that into law. But they want the no restrictions. Trump is right, though. You have to get elected, too. My feeling is that he is not die-hard in either camp. He is more invested in conservative fiscal policy and national security but has to get elected. Roe v. Wade was unconstitutional. The judicial branch is not allowed to make laws. They are only allowed to interpret them. The legislative branch makes the laws. You do not want to give a non-elected, lifetime appointed person the power to make laws. This negates the checks and balances that keep our country stable. And you want the Supreme Court to be life-time appointed people. Because then, they aren't making a decision to get re-elected or keep their job. I'm rambling, but I love the brilliance of our constitution.

And because it's such high human trafficking, you can't trust that people without proper ID are actually family members. So many kids are sold to people traveling across the border. When you break the law by crossing the border illegally, any children with you are separated until you can be sorted out in jail. Same as Americans, you go to jail - your kids are temporarily taken

In Europe, most countries don't allow late stage abortions, usually between 11 to 20 weeks. I don't get why the option in the states is either no abortion or abortion anytime you want. Why no sensible middle? Don't people want that?

⁠@@davister84 A lot of us would want that, but then you have others who either want it banned completely (with or without exceptions) or no restrictions at all. With Roe vs Wade off the table, each state can decide their own laws in regard to abortion. So some conservative states have it banned (may allow for exceptions), moderate states will have elective until a certain point, while more liberal states have no restrictions on elective abortions. I think each state should have a vote that’s not connected to a candidate or party about this, and you’d probably find most people would want somewhere more like what you’d see in Europe, but it’s been way too politicized for that to happen any time soon, I fear. As soon as things get politicized, it just turns into a mess unfortunately.

Veteran here 👋🏾 That changed years ago. If you can't get an appointment at the VA hospital/clinic, etc., within 1 month, they have to offer you the opportunity to go out of network aka a civilian alternative. VA is has been my only healthcare for 14 yrs, I've had several surgical procedures across different states. Now, all veterans DON'T have the same coverage - it depends on their disability status; that's where some get confused.

Forget what it was called but it opened up options allowing veterans to seek care at private facilities and have them bill the VA for the service. The PACT act that Biden is talking about is also doing good things. In regards to the VA, both of these guys have done something good.

Undocumented workers contribute billions to the economy, they contribute to our social programs, and they rarely collect on them. Biden didn't "let all of these illegals just pass through" he doesn't have a shift on the border. He and Congress have a bipartisan border bill that would have curbed the number coming in, would have altered the "catch and release" policy so more undocumented migrants would be sent back, would have hired more border guards, and would have expanded our immigration process to clear the backlog of applicants in a timely manner. Trump told his MAGA caucus in Congress to kill it and the bill died.
