Hello ASL Heroes!!! Hey, I could really use your help. If you’ve enjoyed having access to an expert in ASL you can help me continue my work for you. A donation from you would instantly make a big difference here at the studio because teachers don’t earn much and I could use some help paying for server and domain hosting for Lifeprint.com. Right now you can help out a humble (not to mention kind, caring, generous, compassionate, helpful, friendly, fair, and hard-working) ASL teacher -- just go here and a few clicks later you too will be a true “ASL Hero!” www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=64QMBRBXQSV6G Thanks! - Dr. Bill p.s. Want to have your very own USB drive with four semesters worth of ASL instruction (that’s the equivalent of two years of colleges classes) for just $79.95? See "SuperUSB" in the ASLUniversity bookstore at: lifeprint.com/bookstore/bookstore.htm Take care and love to you all. :)

Hello Dr. Bill Vicars, thank you so much for your enthusiasm and inspiration. I'm currently interpreting an economics high school class and found your video very useful. I thoroughly enjoyed your facial expressions and animation.

Oh hey, I'm rather ambivalent these days when it comes to president(s) and politics. Lately people who know me have described me as being a "social moderate."

My lesson videos are based on conversations. Also the "find out curriculum" videos. ru-vid.com/group/PL6akqFwEeSpjPo2F3R3g3EMvdIVvoRwST

I see that this is an "ASL5" and up kind of understanding. do you plan on going through ASL5-7 soon and if not can you recommend channels that do go through ASL 1-7?

Casey, ASL 5, ASL 6, ASL 7, and similar labels are fairly meaningless outside of specific programs of study in which they are used as a way of establishing prerequisites (as in telling you the suggested or required order in which to take the classes). It would be rare to find two different colleges or schools that had the same content in a course titled "ASL 6." In thirty years of teaching and having interacted with quite a few schools -- I've yet to see the same content show up in curriculum beyond ASL 5 (and even ASL 5 has a lot of variety from school to school). After you have a basic foundation of ASL communication skills, your progress becomes one of simply increasing your general depth and breadth of signing ability via vocabulary acquisition and skill building. To build up your vocabulary I recommend you use the ASLU playlist. See: ru-vid.com/group/PL6akqFwEeSpiLwRFA3ZvuOWMwPXwI7NqA Skip any videos you've already seen. Any duplicated lessons (with different students) decide if you want to use them for review. To build up your conversational skills I recommend you google: Deaf events near me ASL social near me ASL coffee social near me ... and similar searches. Then go meet and interact with skilled signers.
