I think that's a way around the "no hugs" rule. They can't offer hugs or hug without permission, because that's unsolicited physical contact, which is what traumatized these kids in the first place. So, bear full of hugs. Pretty ingenious.

Also meant to say that I will never be mentally or emotionally well again, abusive people are to blame for enormous amounts of misery, I have nothing to do with such scum anymore, those who are critical I have cut out of my life and I am much happier because of it.

Shared yours and many more :-) I was so interested being a sexually abused child whose abuser was not only my step father but was a detective with Pinellas Park police. Sadly he was the first detective trained to use the puppets that helped children open up and talk about their abuser, and he was one. Too bad I didn't have BACA then because I'd love nothing more then for him to have paid for what he did

Angel...thank you for your post. Yes....please share with others, especially those who maybe apprehensive about our visit. You may also want to have the person who is coordinating the visit contact their B.A.C.A. liaison and let them know there are some family members who are "scared." They can make sure that everyone involved will fell comfortable. Our primary focus is the child, but we are used to working with other family members getting comfortable. Watching the interactions between B.A.C.A. Members and the children is a very positive emotional experience for all.

Thank you Badd Bob! After seeing your interview and several others they were much more at ease. I am happy to report that all went well and we are waiting for the weather to warm up. Really hoping I'm able to be there for their 1st ride. Just thinking about it makes me all misty.

Blad and I were up in Tallahassee Florida this weeked for out B.A.C.A. State Meeting. We attended a Child Abuse Prevention Event with the Governor's wife. We also annouced opening two new Chapters in the State of Florida. One in Tarpon Springs and another in Daytona. We're growing with your help!

We do have a forming effort in the U.K. It takes committed Bikers coming to us to form a Chapter. Interested Bikers can con act us via the website!

skulls represent what hold your brain in so I'm not sure how that's bad, leather is great protection when riding a bike again not a bad thing motorcycles are intriguing to children so again missing your point. Some of the most amazing people in my life are bikers including my own dad. Yes they will protect a child at all cost and their "scary" appearance will intimidate a child abuser because they know they did something wrong. But to those kids they are their body guards and make them feel safe and protected from the abuse they suffered most likely from a parent. A lot of time in cases such as these the defender will call everyone a child has around them for comfort as a witness leaving the court room empty people that would make a child feel comfortable while on the stand testifying against their abuser, these men will literally escort these children into the court room so they will be more at ease and feel safe. So yeah I think they are onto something

Do you think "Golfers against child abuse" would be better? This IS NOT a vigilante group. They are there to let the child know that they are part of a family, and that they do not have to live in fear anymore because they are now a member of a family that will protect them. Any one of these bikers would lay down their life in a heartbeat to protect a child. Criminals, child abusers, sexual predators, are not intimidated easily. But YOU DO NOT want to start messing with a biker. Trust me,

not trying to be delicate! trying to make the child feel safe knowing he/she has a group of large bikers has their back and they dont have to be scared cus we will protect them!

To quote one of the kids when they appeared in court - the Judge asked the child if they were afraid to testify. When the kid said no the judge asked why not. The answer "Because my friends are scarier than he is" The tough guy image is important - it makes the child feel safe and sends a message to the abuser. A simple message, but an effective one - "hands off" Or, as one of the BACA patches says "The surgeon general has determined that it is hazardous to your health to touch a BACA child"
