The Polk T15 sound pretty good in this comparison (that is a powerful, expensive system!), but not that good at all in person. Meant for surrounds, they sound very hollow if used in an average two channel system. I just got the KEF Q150 today and they blow away the Polk Signature S55 towers and S15 bookshelves. They also sound better than the Q Acoustics 3020i and 3030i. The only speaker that comes close that I have heard so far are the NHT SuperOne 2.1 (overachievers). These KEFS are warm, have great bass, and the UNI-Q concentric driver is the real deal. I also have the Polk T50 and they are hollow sounding as well. The KEF are pretty much unbeatable for their price ($329.99 on sale today). I have a SMSL A0200 MkII, DO200 MkII DAC, and RSL Speedwoofer 10s. Also tried them with the Yamaha TSR-700 and Sony AN-1000 receivers in the same room.
Polk t15 are pretty dam good sounding, dont know much about the kefs, surprisingly the polks sounded just as good as the kefs,, the better option for polk is the polk tsi 100 they sound great !!
Cool video. Like the varied music types! While I’m sure the difference is even more apparent sitting there live in the sweet spot, and I’d take the KEFs 100% every time, the $79 for the Polks is quite unbelievable ($50 sometimes on sale). Beautiful setup.
Could you please offer some comments on these two pairs so people with no muscial ears like me could learn from experts like you? Thank you. I am actually listening to this video from Polk M10 (same as T15, I believe) mounted on the wall next to my PC monitor. Waiting for a "neutral" headset (beyerdynamic DT 150) to be delivered so, for the first time in my life, I could hear what a recording is supposed to sound, lol, if there is such a thing.
I have the Polk Signature S55 towers and the S15 bookshelf speakers, they are not even close to the sound of the KEF Q150 I just got today! The KEF has more bass than the S55 towers, better highs (not so hot), richer mids. I also have the Polk T50 towers and the T15 bookshelf speakers, they sound hollow, the KEF Q150 is unbeatable by most speakers I have heard less than $1000, including Polk R200 (Reserve is Polk's 2nd highest line and R200 is $800+). I got the KEF Q150 today for $329.99 on sale, they are unreal and not broken in yet!
