I am a keen collector of 'older' music and am very grateful to the thousands of people who have kindly shared their music on the net. I would like to share some of my records that I find, 'hard to find', on many sites, these songs are mostly on vinyl and are 2 or 3 different copies edited together to make a best version, then de-clicked etc to enhance even more. they are as close to 'mint' that I can get at this moment in time. The audio track is mp3. the pics are just for video. I hope they are the ones you are looking for

I loved working with Polly and gerry and I spent many happy times recording and writing for this remarkably talented girl.

Still enjoy her older songs, like this one, more than her newer songs. Still, a wonderful voice and awesome background music

Polly was and still is one of my favourite British female singers and she still sounds good today. This Shury/Roker song written with Polly shows her sweet soul voice was a joy to listen to.

Whenever i listen to Polly sing this song i'm transported to an altogether better time and place that had sunny days, bell bottom jeans and wonderful sounds just like this - sheer bliss

Complete mystery why it never happened.

The only thing that prevented her was her attempt to become/pass as a “Black” person during her time as part of Sweet Dreams.

@@only1moore Sadly Robert back in 1974 Britain she kinda got away with it- It was still a pretty racist culture- The Black and White Minstrel Show was still a top rated Saturday Night ratings winner for BBC1 and the racist jokes told by comedians on tv were awful. It was a hard ride for any female singers here in the UK. The most successful female singer chart wise was Diana Ross who had scored hits every year since 1964, Cilla Black had run out of steam by 74 and the others really only had sporadic hits. Diana was in a class of her own- scoring 6 top 50 UK hits solo and with Marvin Gaye and a reissue of Baby love with the Supremes to mark the 10th anniversary. Polly had greater solo success in the US where Up In A Puff of Smoke was a Billboard top 20 hit early in 75- it stalled at 44 in the UK despite heavy airplay and TV appearances.

A wonderful voice and a great summery song . It reminds me of sunny days and growing up as a teen in the 60/70s. Life really was so much better then and simpler. That's the beauty of music like an old photograph it holds time and memory for ever in your heart. Thanks Polly. xx

God she's bloody gorgeous, this is really classy soul singing for you. Polly, a class act deserved a lot better, should have been a major star. Radio 1 and Tony Blackburn likely gave this decent airplay. Sad death of Gerry Shury taken too soon aged just 32, around 1977/8 meant serious problems with the continuation of Polly's career, he was a quality songwriter and producer.

Can no one hear the influence of Dionne Warwick in here? No bad thing I hear you say. If only she'd have met Bacharach or David how different her life might have been.

She was in the limelight 1970-76,..but it then looks as though her GTO contract ended in 1977, a year after she mysteriously left Sweet Dreams. Sadly, Polly was then off the radar.

Cracking singer, easily as good if not better than Warwick and Ross.

She should have been right up there with Petula Clark. I think they would have loved her here in the US.
