Hi Rahul, I haven’t done any engraving. It came by default in the AC vents. Perhaps, VW stopped those markings in the recent variants that came out?

Hi Harish, you just need to push it from inside. No tools needed.

Hi Adi. It’s easy to add the parking switch. As shown in the video, you can access the switch units below the central AC vents easily after removing the head unit. Pop out one of the dummy covers from the inside with your bare fingers and it will come off. Wires can be routed by simply guiding them from below the head unit area. When you remove the head unit, you get ample space to do this work. I got the parking switch from Aliexpress back then. I will plan to make a video of adding the front parking sensors but it will be more of a guide video not an actual one as I had completed this work some time back. I am not sure what switch you have for your garage door but if its just a push to open/close type, you can add it to this switch cluster easily.

You can but it involves a lot of changes not just changing the control panel. Additional sensors, wiring harness, a high-end BCM (body control module; onboard computer) etc are required. Not simple.

Hi Joe, you’ll have to remove the vent assembly and check if the individual flaps are not broken. If it has just come off, you can carefully put it back in place. Try removing and checking it. Over time the flaps may break and this is a common issue for the vent assembly in the Polo, Vento, Rapid they sell here in India. They become brittle over time.

If you’re referring to the optical parking system button, I got it from Aliexpress back then. Do check eBay.com. I’ve got some stuff like the electrical terminals and connectors from eBay dealers based out of Europe.

Hi Anupam, I’m really sorry. I’ve no clue how the centre vents on the S-Cross are taken out. Maybe you can start with removing the outer plastic trim first. That’s the starting point.

Please buy a set of trim removal tools Anupam. So it won’t break any trims.

You get both for the trim remover - metal as well as plastic. Plastic comes in 4-5 sizes and shapes so it helps in squeezing through the edge while you can pull it out. The metal one is used to pull out certain clips which hold these plastic trims to the car’s metal body. I’ll share some images so you get an idea.

Hi Arpan, there’s a centre vent flap motor inside the dashboard. That must have gone bad. You’ll have to replace it.

Hi, I got stuff from Aliexpress way back when it wasn’t banned. The other alternative is have the items shipped to a friend or relative in Singapore or UAE or some other country and have them carry it for you back to India. Payments from India work just fine. It’s just that they won’t ship to India.

Hi, sorry I may have missed this comment. From what I’ve read on the internet, there’s a lot of work and expenses involved in changing from climatic to climatronic unit. This includes the new climatronic panel, wiring harness, connectors and terminals.

Hi Adrian, there’s only one blower located behind the glovebox. When you close both the side vents completely, how’s the throw through the centre vents? How old is the car? Have you cleaned the blower? If not, suggest you take it to an FNG or a dedicated car AC technician. Let them remove the glovebox and the blower assembly, clean it properly using compressed air and reinstall it and check. For front windshield defogger, when you change the setting to defogger mode and increase the temperature, does it throw warm air? Looks like your blower needs some cleaning. 🙂

@@GaneshBalan Good morning Ganesh, Through the side vents the force of air hasn't reduced, maybe a bit more coz the center vents are closed. Jai removed the glove box and cleaned the blower sometime last year, my other fear is that during the rains earlier this month a rodent might have made it its home for a few days and blocked the air passages ... but then again i dont see any trace of rats in the car.... The car is a 2013 model done 1.55lac Km ... everything apart from front suspension is still original including the original clutch which i think is close to end of its life now, which again is another thing i wanted to chat with you about coz i seen an article on Team BHP detailing when you changed your clutch ... The plan is to service the car my self and then give it to Jai to change the clutch and timing belt and water pump. What i was wondering is that with reg to the clutch would i need to change the full thing or only the friction plates. Cheers chief, hope you braced for the rains later today.

Nope this isn’t a rat for sure. You’ll get a stinking smell from the vents if that was the case. Are you getting a good throw at the feet when you change the directions and set the blower to max speed? Just to rule out blower and the blower resistor issue. As for the clutch pack, it is always recommended to change the components as a set - clutch, pressure plate and the release bearing. How much has your car run so far? Jai is very reliable but please keep your expectations from the clutch change really low. The heavy clutch on the diesels rear it’s ugly head very quickly! For rains, the metro construction towards Poonamallee side has made the roads in a terrible state. Coupled with the rains and the water stuck on the roads!

@@GaneshBalan hi Ganesh, When I change air flow direction to my feet nothing happens, no air blowing at my feet. The blower is working perfectly even when I adjust the speed. Could it still be the blower resistor issue? I read that there are air direction flaps behind the center vents that change the direction of the air between top (dashboard) and feet ... Could this be the issue?... Yep. The part numbers for the vents are identical for LHD and RHD cars.

Hi Rakesh, the side vents were Rs 917 each back in 2017.

Just pry out the dummy filler there from one of the slots and insert the new switch. It fits in the slot. Is that what you asked?

Hi Bushan. The switches below the centre AC vents each have a dedicated part number. I sourced mine from eBay Germany back then for my front parking system. Please check eBay.de. Also check Aliexpress. They have these switches but you’ll have to send the items to another country like Singapore or UAE and then have a friend carry it to India or send it since Aliexpress stopped dealing with India.

A friend has a Polo Trendline 1.2 MPI. Let me try making a video on removing the steering wheel and understanding what wiring harness is in place.
