The Queen reference at 3:06 is so on point with the Bohemian Rhapsody mv and the lyrics (numquam genitus desiderem, I wish I was never born) oh my-

The fact that Mihoyo chose an Italian opera singer to portray Scaramouche here is so on point. Besides, that Italian singer is a freaking legend! Paolo sang on so many other games and anime, such as FF7 Remake Intergrade, Final Fantasy VI’s Pixel Remaster and more. Definitely keep an eye on him, the dude is going places!

The last part at 3:03 is so smart. The lyrics "Nunquam genitus desiderem" translates to "I wish wish I had never been born", also the way they are standing is an obvious bohemian rhapsody reference. Love genshin music so much.

I can't believe my ears. Edm, opera, traditional Japanese folk... orchestral... all meshed into one song. How. I've died and gone to heaven... no. Not heaven. Its such a great time to be alive to be able to hear such glorious work of art!! Stuff like this is what makes life worth living.

The fact that it was sung in Latin and Japanese is such a clever detail since Scaramouche was a prominent figure in the Harbingers and Inazuma where his story began.

This version is fire!!! I love both versions. The one where Yu-Peng Chen sings sounds to me like a lonely man with towering ambitions, a smaller entity wrapped in an enormous energy, hands reaching up to heavens in both defiance and longing. Almost like a child, lost, wanting desperately to belong somewhere and he'll conquer and crush anything to achieve it. This version with this amazing Italian opera singer gives me the feeling of loud proclamation and formidable danger. It's more... mature. Scaramouche becoming more than what he was yet his core being still shines through in brief yet unmistakable moments of anguish and abandonment. Both are valid, both are cannon. I love both!!! And I think the version in game is perfect as is and this version for the music album is perfect as well!!

It's unbelievable. How much effort and soul Yu-Peng Chen put into this masterpiece, composing it and even giving it his voice in the game himself. How much emotion and meaning Hsiang Liu, the lyricist of this song, put into their work, giving us the opportunity to experience feelings and thoughts of our favorite character. How many talented people from different cultures and musical directions came together to perform it. How many fans united their love for the character and knowledge to translate the lyrics, to find and parse every detail and reference that was so lovingly invested in this composition as well as in the whole character of Scaramouche. And how much support the fans gave to HoYoverse, without which we could not have enjoyed it. Thank you all so much ♡

In my opinion, Scaramouche boss theme music is so far the best BGM ever created for Genshin. Especially when seemingly very different genres of music could somehow be combined, and achieve an epic result.

I'm proud to be one of the players supporting this game. Definitely worth it especially the music and consistent version update.

Classic latin pronunciation, classic japanese, mixed traditional japanese and Indian tones, opera singer and a whole orchestra...This is a piece of art in all the possible ways... It fits completely with the old and plurinational origins of Scaramuccia: made of old and advanced Khaenri'ah's technology (Roma), born in medieval-Inazuma (Japan), blessed by the knowledge of an old and versed nation as it is Sumeru (India/Bharat), perfect.

We saw this singer perform this track at the genshin concert in seoul, Korea. It was absolutely incredible and a moment I will never ever forget. His live voice really shook me and my friend, such a beautiful interpretation of the song 💕

I'm just happy that HYV is VERY generous & gave a lot of attention to scaramouche. He probably the only long-awaited character that live up or even exceeded people's expectations when he came back.

Yu-Peng Chen has produced so many beautiful and incredible pieces, but I honestly think this is his greatest work so far. It's not the first time he's mixed traditional instruments with techno/rock elements; like Azhdaha's theme, another amazing piece from him. But I think what sets Polumnia Omnia apart is how much more weight it holds. How he uses multiple styles of music, all of which symbolises Scaramouche's story. How the leitmotifs of his background are played throughout, and of course, the lyrics of the choir and the singing. Switching between Latin when singing about his new godly form, but Japanese when singing about his past. Yu-Peng Chen is no doubt a brilliant composer, for being able to fully empathise and ground himself in the setting, background, environment, atmosphere he's writing for, and convey all these wordless feelings through music.

99% of my weekly Scara boss fight is listeting to this beautiful song and 1% of paying attention to the fight. Love it.

Saw him perform this live at the Yokohama concert on 11/25, his voice was so powerful and I was absolutely blown away 😭 Had goosebumps the entire time, loved it 💕

Paolo performed this and Rhapsodia Roscida live in Yokohama last week! It was amazing! The whole hall was trembling with his voice and presence. This MV is good too but hearing it live was a whole other experience.

1:08 ごやのすゑなぞながされ These mean "born and abandoned without being blessed." This is a very old word, difficult even for Japanese to translate!

Ok I need to mention this. When I looked at the lyrics and saw Japanese, I noticed this and needed to point it out. In Japanese, there are three types of letters we use. This is hiragana, katakana and kanji. There are two hiragana that we don't use anymore, which are ゐ and ゑ. I can't believe that genshin actually included ゑin the lyrics, as this hiragana is from thousands of years ago. Really smart considering scaramouche is also several hundred years old.

The blend of Inazuman/Japanese, electro, opera, and orchestra already make this an incredible piece in-game, but the live vocals and special effects really bring this piece to a whole other level! Amazing work by everyone involved!

I noticed that he's singing in Latin 😭😭 omg I'm liking this alaksksks, and I can tell this accent is clearly Classical Latin albeit holding some Ecclesiastical Latin pronunciations. Some small differences between Classical and Ecclesiastical Latin accents: 1. For Classical Latin, the letter "C" is always pronounced like in English "cart" or "kite" in all vowels. But in Ecclesiastical accent, the letter C is split into 2 ways of pronunciation depending on it's vowel. Before vowels e, i or y it's pronounced like in English "cheese" but in a, o or u, it's like the English "cart". 2. The letter V in Classical Latin is like w in English "way" or "why" but in Ecclesiastical Latin it's like v in English "volcano" or "venom". I can't really tell if he pronounce "v" as English V (cuz it sounds like it, or my ears are clearly failing me ahahaa sorry) but pls do tell me if he's pronouncing the letter v as English w or English V (what do u guys think? pls reply huhu.) I really love both the original soundtrack version sung by Yu-Peng Chen and this version sung by Paolo Andrea Di Pietro. They have very different voices, but both really beautiful.

For anyone not playing the game, this song is definitely impressive and a clear technical masterpiece. But for people like me, who plays the game and is actually invested in the character's story, the song becomes so much more. It does not only takes us on a journey we already know and love, it is telling that story on an intellectual and philosophical level through its selection of rhythms, singers, instruments, language, and leitmotiv. I am so glad I played the game!
