Thank you so much for this video! I'm Vietnamese and I LOVE Portuguese cuisine. It is so under-rated and must be enjoyed by the whole world! There used to be a Portuguese restaurant in my hometown of San Jose, CA called Sousa's Restaurant before the owners retired to the Azores. They are such warm lovely Portuguese people and I miss them so much. Polvo is one of my favorite dishes and I've always wanted to know how to make it. MUITO BOM! MUITO OBRIGADO!
Hi Nancy found your Chanel a few weeks ago and I’m loving it I do the octopus almost the same except I bring it to a five minute boil before cleaning for me it’s easier to clean,say hi to your Mom was so wonderful to see her,God Bless you all 🙏🏻❤️

I have been cooking Portuguese food for my boys and wife for years. I was fortunate enough to help my mother in the kitchen and picked up a love of cooking and remember a lot of what she did and how to cook Portuguese food. This is one of my boys favorite Portuguese dishes.

We all make octopus but every one brings something different to the dish. I'm always interested in exploring different ways to make a dish. I've never pre-boiled the octopus nor added beer to it. My parents are from Sao Miguel and I use my mom's recipt which is very similar. The only difference is the pre boiling which I have never done until this past weekend. The ocoptus came out more tender which I can assume is from pre boiling. Thanks for the tip. My whole family enjoyed it

One of my favourite dishes. I don't add beer but safe the water that the octopus was boiled in and add that instead. Excellent video love the way you two work together. I had no problem understanding but could of used a little more English translation on your part.The part you refer to as the belly button isn't that the mouth minus the beak?
My mom use to make this dish may she Rest In Peace but she would make the polvo by itself and drizzle it onto homemade French fries the polvo would melt in your mouth it’s an expensive dish cause polvo like and seafood shrinks allot miss that dish
I just found your web site. I live in the USA and find it hard to find fresh octopus. I do have access to octopus that is pre cooked and imported from Spain. Do you think I could use precooked ocopus in this recipe?
