Polyphonic midi tracks is the only thing making me debate going mpc one. Just found out this has been added and I’m so happy because the tracker seemed more my style in every way but lacking that feature was a big one for me.
This does look handy. Presumably we can change presets by sending midi commands to the external device, too. And control multiple devices on different channels. (Midi really is very powerful)
Awesome! If I may ask: In the (super handy!) 'cheat sheet for nerds' which is linked in the Tracker manual, on the Chords FX tab there is a listing of first inversion, second inversion, third inversion. Is this table meant like: If you want to play the first inversion of Cm7, you have to place a major triad (O47) on Eb (-> Eb, G, Bb, which is the 3rd + 5th + 7th step of Cm7)? Or is there actually a way to tell the Tracker to output a given chord in an inverted form without doing the calculations? Awesome anyways that you provide that cheat sheet. I just try to get my head around it, and ask myself whether I oversaw something. Will definitely print out the cheat sheet and put it on my pinboard 📑
The newer trackers feature softer, rounded buttons. The company that made the clickety clack buttons (that I have on my first gen tracker) went out of business during the pandemic, polyend switched to another company to made the buttons and pads
@@douglascarmichael4582 Mine is a new one and I've only ever used cherry MX Blues to compare to, but, the new keys are slightly wiggly, feel "straight up and down" in their travel (meaning it doesn't feel like they have any curvature to their response, or click points, etc) and as you can see have some travel to them. I think they can be popped right off like normal mechanical keyboards but Im not gonna try that with my unit but you might be able to find an owner comfortable with doing that to learn more! The keys definitely don't feel cheap or mushy, I can say at least that much
Sure you can. A chord played and recorded to the Tracker will consume as many tracks as there are notes in it. Use the Render Selection tool to overcome this limitation. polyend.com/manuals/tracker/#first-steps
@@Polyend I may just be being a bit thick (nothing new) but I can't see anything that allows custom chord creation without using multiple tracks. Just a list of the preprogrammed ones. If there's a vid that shows it can you link?
I've created a spreadsheet with all chord formulas translated from semitones to intervals + all main inversions for the chords. Not sure I can post the link here, so just find Tracker reddit community, my post is there, as well as in Tracker Discord group
