Something is wrong, solinco confidential is known by its playability duration whereas luxilon alu power is known to be crisp for the fist 2-4h and then go horrible loose.

I am confused - all the Luxilon strings, even big banger original, are described as co-poly strings on tennis warehouse.. It's seems perhaps that only strings from several years ago were polyester and pretty much all poly strings nowadays have additives added to them.

Thank you so much for the Solinco Confidential. I used it yesterday and it was amazing feel. I used the 18g @52lbs for mains with Dunlop SGut 18g @50lbs for crosses (tennis elbow) on Wilson ProStaff 97L with added 5g weight at the grip. I tried the Tour bite 20g but it wasn't that good. I had to hit and miss 3 times until I get to my shot. With Confidential, from the first hit. Now I have 3 main strings to choose from: HyperG 20g, Confidential 18g and Völkl V-square 19g. I hope they would release the Confidential in 19g or even 20g.

It's just not accurate to say the stiffer polys last longer and have less tension loss than copolys. There are numerous examples of soft co-poly's having less tension loss and longer playability than their firmer cousins. As an example, the tension loss of the ALU Power you showed is 47% compared to 26% for the Hyper G. So I think your assertion needs to be reexamined.

Harry, love your videos, pace talking talking and the issues you come with. Why polyesters got better in the market than kevlar?... Agassi strung kevlar, as in example... what do you think about kevlar?
@TheDareMaximus
@TheDareMaximus 3 года назад
It's just the performance Kevlar is material that is very very strong, (it is used in military for armor suits so they stops bullet from penetration) With kevlar, your strings are durable as hell, they will last very long, but big thing about them is their low performance they give Poly gives much more power, spin, and such things to the ball, as it "grabs" that ball pretty well, while kevlar strings won't "grab" that ball, causing less power, spin and such..
@medicoveterinario3641
@medicoveterinario3641 3 года назад
@@TheDareMaximus aha... I use kevlar. A lot, Y find that it is very but I mean very good string when strung at low tension (40 lbs or even less) with good match of crosses, as multi or soft poly or copoly, their pretty thin ( 1,10-1,20) therefore the spin is very affordable, as so the slice. I do agree with you that when strung al 50, as in example, it is a iron wall you are hitting with

What kinda strings are arm Friendly? Recently I uses the Wilson Clash 100L racquet and use the Babolat RPM BLAST Spin Control 120/18, in it.
@erichaynes7502
@erichaynes7502 3 года назад
Synthetic Gut or Natural Gut are really the only arm friendly strings. Polyesters are very stiff, not arm friendly so it can easily cause tennis elbow and other arm problems. However, I have a racket designed to prevent tennis elbow(Volkl V1 Classic) it has 2 dampeners inside the grip to prevent all the shock going to the arm/elbow. Because I have this racket I can play with polyester string without having arm problems. If I didn't have this racket I'd have to use only Synthetic or Natural Gut. I play about 15-20 hours a week if you play a lot less you might not have to worry about all this.

@eloneatmyshorts
@eloneatmyshorts 3 года назад
No not in the way you’re thinking. Harry’s definition of a “multi-poly” is taking hundreds/thousands of poly strands and wrapping itself together like a multifilament string. What you’re thinking is a multi and poly combo hybrid build like the Triax. Which IMO is phenomenal in its achievement of having gut like feel with positive qualities of a poly (snap back, durable, high slick coefficient).

Luxilon only lasts as its tension when first played, never more than a few days or a week, but the playability is extremely better than any other co-poly strings in the market, that is why they are still the #1 string maker/seller in the world. Companies like Solinco makes strings that will lasts tension longer due to the co-polymer technology, but does not play as well as the Luxilon strings. Maybe you can figure out why Luxilon is still the best when it is the first generation string - ALU used first by Guga Kuerten in 1997. By the way the company PolyStar came in the tennis market before Luxilon in the early 80s(1981) with their first original polyester tennis strings (Classic)used by a few pros in Europe, mainly swiss players. But PolyStar did not make it in the American market in the 80s because those strings were terrible and expensive.
