Now I'll be waiting for Language Simp's VRchat video where he goes around to various worlds impressing everyone with his better-than-native language skills.
These videos always throw me for a loop. You'll say like 3 things that seem completely reasonable and then another that's hysterical so then I'm asking myself if I understood the last 3 things you said or not. It's awesome.
My target languages are British, American and Canadian. I scared that uɐᴉlɐɹʇsn∀ is too hard to learn, and I’m confused of Canadian, as it has 2 variants which are British Canadian and French Canadian. Maybe in another year, I’ll learn Mexican and Brazilian, so that I could communicate with Spanish people and Portuguese. I may also learn Mandarin so I can speak to Hong Kongers, Taiwanese, Japanese and Koreans. Indian seems like a fun language to learn too, I will go to the India continent someday to learn about their culture. And don’t forget African, lovely language to learn to talk with people from the country Africa!
While the first half of this comment was funny, the second half is just ignorant. For example people in Japan and Korea don’t speak mandarin, they speak Japanese and Korean. Also Africa has over 2000 different languages, Africa is a continent with different countries and systems. People don’t all just speak “African” there.
Thank you for these videos. I am not a native American speaker (I was born in Oceania and speak a dialect of Australian), but I use your videos as immersion and have been learning a lot (apologies for bad American)
I checked and the amount of people speaking Uzbek at the Mexican/American border has doubled since the release of this video. How am I supposed to insult people now?!
I highly recommend learning the prettiest languages ever Icelandic / Norse / Dutch / English / Norwegian / Gothic etc, which are the languages of the future, so all learners should be learning these 2gether, they are so heavenly with the prettiest words and sounds and the coolest and most modern pronunciations and aspects ever, and, Norse and Icelandic are the most alpha languages ever, definitely a must-learn for every learner, once one discovers these gorgeous languages, one wishes one would have discovered / learnt them sooner - I started learning languages on my own like one year ago, and I am already upper advanced level in Dutch and advanced level in Norwegian and upper intermediate level in Icelandic / Norse / German and mid intermediate level in French / Portuguese / Italian / Swedish and intermediate level in Welsh and upper beginner level in multiple other languages, so I highly recommend learning many easy and pretty languages, like I do, instead of only learning 1 or 2 impossible languages that don’t even sound good that one is never going to be native speaker level in, anyway, as choosing wisely is key to being a successful polyglot! Danish is one of the prettiest languages, but Icelandic / Norse / English / Dutch / Norwegian are the absolute prettiest languages ever, and this truly is an objective fact, as prettiness and great language construction and great word construction and great letter combinations and great sound combinations and pretty word endings etc are objective facts, just like the great sméłłs of fruits and flowers, and just like talent in music and skills in songwriting and pretty melodies etc, which are all facts, so all should be learning them 2gether, as they are way too pretty not to know! By the way, some of the other info is very untrue, all wøm’n are the exact opposite of cómpliments / beautiful / attractive etc, and ppl don’t even understand what things such as attraction are, which do not exist for ppl, and there is no way to ‘dethrone’ ppl as ppl are the exact opposite of kings etc, and we the Alphas (me and the pure protectors aka the alphas) are the only beings who belong on the thrones etc aka the only Royalty!
@@augustobarbosab.773 it look worse, but is slightly more coherent then Swedish orthography, after awhile you can atleast figure out what sort of sound a letter (or combination of letters) is supposed to make
it's not rare theres just several sub dialects within sort of like WU < SO CAL, NOR CAL, Xicano, Bay Area > . Rare dialect is Appalachian... California dialect is like Bejing Mandarin of America
by learning swedish you can also speak danish! as long as you get really drunk cause as a native danish speaker i can say with confidance that i say rød grød med fløde and fem flade fløde boller på et flat flødebolle fad almost every day
I love the fact that on the question about learning russian because of the war, since it is a serious topic ,our GigaChad actually doesn't answer in a sarcastic way and takes it seriously
I thought the same thing. But I didn't want to comment about it in case he did say something sarcastic that I missed or didn't understand, which would make my comment about the guy being serious look sarcastic.
As a multilingual semichad, I can confirm that one of the best reasons to learn new languages is indeed to talk shit about other people without them understanding. When I switched to American with my Canadian friends and started talking shit about them, they all left the chat in confusion. It was definitely worth learning American by watching Language Simp on RU-vid. 10/10 would recommend.
Sice I'm a polyglot alpha female, I decided I'm only gonna learn languages that use the American alphabet. Other languages are for betas! Btw, what's up with Spanish and that weird thing on top of the "n"? It's such a weird language! And objects have gender, meaning sex. Oh! And the conjugations are so weird! I'm gonna learn Portuguese or Italian instead. Plus, Spanish is so basic! Everybody speaks it. And as I only learn languages to be different than others, I'm avoiding this one. What do you guys think?
Whats up with the Spanish 'n' ?? Ni**a what's up with the French ' R ' sounds nothing like ARE or Ere (Spanish, Italian, Portugese,Romanian) . French 'R' sounds ghhhhhh hhhhhhhhhhhhh ar..ghhhh! *weird french noises. C'mon Senapai, Mexican Spanish alphabet is basically a Romanized version of the Japanese Chimpokemon script.. Everything be ending with POCKET - O , WAIFU - A, OMELETE- O, K OSO.
My goal as a hyper polyglot giga Chad alpha male in training is to be a native speaker of Ikthuil. This will require deleting my original native language of American from my brain and starting from scratch with Ikthuil. Wish me luck!
Absolutely hilarious and loved the last video too. Although, I’d cut Steve Kaufmann slack in comparison to all the other “polyglots”. He doesn’t use a script, often has live interviews in different target languages, doesn’t post the classic “shock native speakers in public” trope, etc… He’s just a genuinely nice old man that likes to learn languages and gives genuine advice haha. He’s also honest that he’s not fluent in all of his languages and admits that he often forget EVERYTHING he had learned in a TL if he hasn’t studied it in a while. The worst he does, honestly, is he pushes LingQ as a learning platform (of which he’s the owner). But, comparatively, the logic behind LingQ makes some pedagogical sense (specifically Krashen’s Input Hypothesis), unlike DuoLingo…
Idk if he is being serious about russian, my comment is not about this dude, but about people who genuinely think like this. My german friend who learns russian gets a lot of comments from people saying he shouldn't learn russian after everything that happened. It's kinda wild to think about. Let's abolish great composers, writers, painters who lived centuries ago (and the language too) because modern russian government did some shit. Look at USA and NATO war crimes, lol, you will learn a lot of new stuff. What about Syria, Vietnam, Iraq, etc etc etc? Why don't we abolish english language then?
Their empathy is selective and the USA and NATO crimes are not important for them and not even a crime in their vision, they act like it doesn't exist 😍 by the moment you're european or from usa and have light eyes you automatically have access to a treatment for a first class human being.
@@JimJimWACA She's saying wars that affect white people get more empathy from white people than wars that affect brown/black people. Not that white people get catered to in every day life.
@The Queen Ah, understandable. Though it is completely reasonable for us to care more about Ukraine than say, Somalia, Ethiopia, Yemen, Sudan, etc. Ukraine is in our Hemisphere. In our area of influence. The invasion of Ukraine directly affects us Americans. If you go to Kenya, you will probably see more people talking about Somalia or Ethiopia than you would Ukraine. It's not good necessarily, but it's entirely reasonable. I, my family, and most Americans are not significantly affected by some conflicts in Somalia. In terms of war crimes, yes we have done messed up shit. But to compare our crimes to the Spanish, the British, the Germans, the Russians, the Japanese, and tons more, is simply stupid. We did bad stuff, but agree or disagree, I would say we're on the good side of history. I've always thought America should focus internally rather than externally, because at our current rate we'll be killing eachother like it's 1862 in 2024.
@@charlesdaloz2547 the other replies say ikenna and xiaoma but honestly they're not bad but holy shit does lingualizer piss me tf off. bro says the same rehearsed phrases every time and then shocks the ignorant americans for speaking a foreign language fluently even tho that's his native language 💀
I'm fluent in Albanian and I can attest to the fact that the best reason to learn a language is to constantly talk shit about everyone around you. I would suggest picking a language with speakers that look obviously different from the people around you so you can spot them before calling them fat pieces of shit right in front of them if one shows up.
"I'm fluent in Albanian and I can attest to the fact that the best reason to learn a language is to constantly talk shit about everyone around you." What's the albanian word for "bunker" ? I'm planning on doing the opposite.
Funny enough, my keyboard has almost every input. I have no idea, but the ones I keep on at all times (I went through and cleared them out because it would take over a minute to find the right keyboard) are: Italian British English Maltese Ukrainian Icelandic Norwegian Slovene Hebrew Estonian Korean Yes, I miss all my other keyboards. :(
I have the internacional fonetic alfabet, cus you can write funny weird shit like ͡o ͜o ͡ ʂɥɢθɰa ɒɪck ʎʰᶿʲ̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃̃˞̰̰̰̰̰̰̰̰̰̰̰̰̰̰̰̰ Bolsonaroémuitogostoso oɯo ʁəəə β̪ azɨɳɢä ̥̥ ͡ṵ‿ṵ͡ ˩˥˥˩˩˨˧˦˧˩˨˦˦˥˩˥˦˩˦˧˥˩˦˥˧˩˨˦tɬʼ
@@ledues3336 No. I'm Canadian. My grandmother spoke Ukrainian to me but I ended up learning Norwegian and would se it as a code in high school. I'm still improving on my Norwegian but I can hold a conversation in Italian. I would consider myself fluent in English, almost fluent in Norwegian, and conversational in Italian.
I know the frustration of learning a language for years and years and still not being really advanced. But that usually happens because we are used to learning relatively easy languages like English, Spanish, etc. When you pick a more complicated and unusual one it feels like you're finally really learning a foreign language and not one that's like 70% cognate with yours.
“One of the hardest things to do as a new language learner is to choose which language to study” Meanwhile me who chose my language because it was the first one I saw and Greek looks cool
The most beautiful languages is Czech. It is easy to pronounce and looks very simple. Strč prst skrz krk Also it has the letter Ř which everyone can pronounce
It's been years since I spoke Czech so I think that the translation to the sentence without vowels is: Stick your finger through your neck. Also I know some people that cannot pronounce the Ř sound (they weren't raised in slavic countries).
I’ve been meaning to learn American, but I’m very intimidated by it’s spelling! It’s not like English at all! But this hyper polyglot gigachad alpha male has helped me gain the confidence to take on a new language completely different from anything else I’ve learnt. I now feel as if I could learn any language. After I learn American, I plan on learning Mexican too! Maybe even Brazilian, as well. Thanks, Language simp! You’ve really helped me!
The super mega hyper polyglot gigachad (that I am attracted to) is so dank that his support for Ukraine almost looks like a meme that only makes sense ironically lmao
fun video, I liked the answer to the question about learning russian. I think Russians would appreciate not being associated with their leader, thank you for sharing the message 🙏 (also languages are great for watching news from different countries!)
Im from Luxembourg but its such a tiny country that sometimes our neighbouring countries dont even know we exist, hearing it mentioned in a video is kinda like a weird fever dream to me
Coming from a half Danish family I fully take that L with gratitude… if it was sarcastic… cos this rollercoaster of genuine and then sarcastic answers is taking me for a ride and I dont even hate it 😂
I really appreciate that he talks satirically about himself all the time, but when he talks about the war in Ukraine, he talks seriously, and I think that's great. in Europe we are having a hard time, and that is appreciated.
I was in Japan and everyone kept calling me Des (Short for Desmond) even when I kept correcting them. Every other sentence they'd call me Des. So fucking rude
Become one with anime and start talking like anime voice actors by screaming your special attack in public. This will get you to level Z2 in no time (I skipped all of the letters of the alphabet by using the power of friendship).
Eg komme fra Norge og ønske at Dansk fremdeles va landets Nasjonalspråk😔. Eg forstår veldig godt koffor dette hypergigachad språket forblei språket av den høgere klasse i flere århundre haha.
I cracked out loud when you mentioned the romantic sounds the Dutch make. I'm not Dutch and I live in the Netherlands. It's not that harsh of a language after you get used to it, though.
Lmao, everyone is so excited about what's going on in Ukraine, people even ask if it's ok to learn Russian after all. But for some reason people continue to learn English without any questions... I recommend them to learn history, just a bit of it, 20th century will be enough to stop learn English, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian and so on. Fucking hypocrites.
ive been studying german for two months when i started reading a simple book - and i kind of succeed - anyway i started another book after one year and half of practising and understood everything (but i put much effort to it and also live in germany, so...) now im trying with french, its not that easy tho, because i cannot find anyone speaking it - id need some french friend online idk
believe it or not... a friend of mine told the EXACT same story with the baker when he went to france... what are the chances... maybe the bakers there really try to switch to english quite often when talking to foreigners
The best way to learn a language is comprehensive input and Reading!!! I speak English, Isizulu, Xhosa, afrikaans And Spanish and am currently learning french 💪🇫🇷
As a Russian guy learning Polish, I can not benefit in the best possible way from learning it - I can't talk shit about other people without them understanding me. I have tried saying "kurwa jebana, wypierdalaj" in the ironic manner, and people understood me. However, this is offset by the fact that the language is similar to my native one.
Danish 😂😂😂 Dated a danish guy when I was younger. He really wanted us to speak our native languages (I’m Swedish) with each other and I had such a hard time understanding him always sounding like a drunk Swede talking while throwing up and eating in the same time… thats how the most beautiful language on the planet sounds like 😁
As a German, I once watched an Austrian video. Wondering about the weird German dialect I couldn't recognize, but which I could understand to a good degree, I scrolled through the comments. One of them stated it was Luxembourgish, until today it was one of my most hilarious moments regarding language🤣 It seemed, many others didn't knew it was actually a language too. Sorry fellow Luxembourg people😅
4:06 "everyone that I type to thinks Im a total moron, but I kind of am so I don't really care" holy shit this quote is amazing, Ive been using it and variations for months and it works like a charm.
As a native Danish speaker, I find the stød the most beautiful part of the language. Danish is essentially a stream of small hiccups interrupted by unpronounceable (to foreigners, your pronunciation was terrible) sounds.
For years I’ve been working to be a polygigachad myself, currently involving French, Vietnamese (cuz half Viet), Japanese, Chinese, Maybe Italian, and Chilean Spanish cuz central Chilean bf ༼⌐■ل͜■༽
Hiligaynon/Ilonggo is the most beautiful language. It also happens to be the language that I'm studying for my transformation into a hyperpolyglot-gigachad.
