As a Ukrainian, once I saw 2 young teen kids turn on the Dora song on a staircase in a flat. Because of the Soviet architecture, there was insane echo. So some college-aged person like 5 floors higher turned it on even louder. Then both had a friendly party for 10 seconds before the kids snapped back into reality and actually knew to run away since other people might be here

Kinda, but not really though. He literally just said russian culture for him is vodka (which is the stereotype about russians that everyone knows) and Dora. That’s the equivalent of me saying American culture is defined by mountain dew and Jojo Siwa (or any other singer that young girls like). Should have mentioned movies. Film library in Russian language is simply huge. Up until Spielberg generation I'd say Soviet cinema was easily on a par with Hollywood and was top 2 film industry in the world until USSR collapse. Modern Russian cinema sucks but it is getting better.

Once you learn the first language, the rest becomes easier. Anki is the most useful tool for learning a language (for me). I am learning Russian now, but I want to learn French, Japanese and Dolphin in the future.
