Another great review. I have the Polygon Siskiu T7 (I already commented on that review video) and I have been considering selling it to get the D7 to get more of a XC bike. I'm still on the fence, but this review gave me some great insight on some key components. Thank you for the great content. Keep it up.

Great review, neighbor. I actually ride a Siskiu T8, often around the Fullerton loop. Small detail missed: the fork and front wheel are 15x100, not boost (15x110). Only the rear is boost 12x148. This is an upgrade, as the D series was 12x142, but you should notice that if you were to venture into better wheelsets, you should consider upgrading the fork too to a boost unit vs mix-matching boost rear with non-boost front.

IIRC, you said the frame and fork are boost. The frame is, but not the fork. I am a fairly new rider at 2 years and started at 45 years young. This bike has been great to me. I did swap the crankset to a 170 mm length from the original 175 after stripping a bolt. (Failed torque wrench, long story) Definitely less pedal and toe strikes now. As a heavier rider at 250 lbs geared up, I went cheap and upgraded to 203/180 rotors which has helped a ton! Also, mine came with some unbranded pedals that I changed out immediately. My 9 year old son loves them on his bike, so that’s good. Mine is a 29er Medium and weighs about 1 lb more than what you tested. A lighter wheel set is in my future. Oh yeah, the Nobby Nic’s that came with mine did setup tubeless while I was waiting for my new tires to arrive. Overall, as a fairly new rider, at 6 months of ownership and around 700 miles logged, I’m very happy with it. Especially for price vs spec. Thanks for the review. It was well done!

I own this bike (29") after downgrading from a Giant Reign Advanced Pro as I wasn't using it to its potential. The D7 is AMAZING value and the only issue I have with it is the low bottom bracket height which causes pedal strikes. But like he mentioned in the video, this is a good excuse to practice better pedal positioning.

The Bottom Bracket height issue is spot on, my Dad rides the exact same Polygon Siskiu D7 in size S. And he has to be careful when pedaling while turning, especially when he change the pedal to a slightly wider one. One correction though, the included Nobby Nic tires are tubeless ready, my Dad was able to convert his to tubeless by just getting a tubeless kit.

Went from a vintage Small, 27.5 hardtail to a D7 29er and I love it. I ride mostly Bonelli in SoCal. Love it going up hill, but I do get nervous going down hill through some difficult rock gardens, but all in all, because of the downhill rockgardens, I am not overbiked for Bonelli. Though the bike does not call out for it, I look forward to doing some fun upgrades over time. My first upgrade was tubeless.

I'm new to mountain biking, but looking at getting "the best bike I can afford" in about a year. I currently have a diamondback response xe hardtail 3x7 in medium (which is actually on the small end for me with a 32.5-33 inseam at 5'10 & 180lbs) that I bought used. I'll probably be on it a year till I can afford to spend the money on a T or D series. Currently longing for a T8, but wondering if a D7 might be better suited to a relatively old newbie like myself (I'm 40 and haven't been on a bike since I was 15 or 16) who is also out of shape (not fat per se, just muscles are flabby and completely out of tone, and my cardio health is "acceptable" according to my doc who wants me to improve it before age makes that harder). I'm so new that I don't know if I'll be doing those heavy duty drops and such as I improve. But, I want a bike that'll grow with me and is already set up such that it'll be wearing out the drivetrain and suspension by the time my skills are improved enough that the bike will be beginning to hold me back. So, that's why I'm looking now at things I'll want to buy in about a year. I know the N series is probably not right for me, as there's not really bike parks nearby and I have to fit cycling into my schedule of work and family (father to 3 young ones, oldest just started biking on her own on the sidewalk). There's several decent mtb trail systems nearby, but nothing bike-park-level. So, that's why I'm kinda torn between the D7, T7, and T8.

Hi there. I have asked this question on almost all of the Polygon videos I've seen 😂. A little bit about myself. I'm more than a roadie than a mountain biker. But I do mountain biking when the road season is over. I do have a Giant XTC3 (carbon)"26 which I upgraded for this. What I did this year was starting with mountain biking. I do XC. Question. Is this the bike I have to go for the fact that I do XC? I'm not a full time mountain biker but I want to enjoy it when I'm doing it. And I'm also looking for my first full suspension bike Thanks in advance ✌🏽

@ctsingletrack
@ctsingletrack 2 года назад
@@gaffle-411 I don't dink you'll see much weight difference between the medium and large. Most of the weight difference from the small to the medium can be attributed to the small having 27.5 wheels and tires, vs 29ers on the medium and large. The medium is also available as a 27.5. There definitely some weight to be save as well. Going tubeless will remove a pound or more. Carbon bars would be my next weight saver, then a cassette, carbon crank set, a lighter fork would save a lot (the Recon RL Silver is a heavy fork due to steel stanchions). Then if you really want to get light, you could upgrade to carbon wheels.

I’m thinking this would be a perfect bike for me. Living in Houston has major setbacks for mtb riders. Most of our trails are small hills with lots of up and down climbing/descending. My local trails I ride only have 70 feet of elevation change total. The trails have to be laid out pretty creatively to make use of what downhill we can get. I would never use a long travel bike to its full potential, and I would wear myself out on the climbs. Down country and trail bikes are perfect for our geography.

@TheBikeSauce
@TheBikeSauce 3 года назад
Yea schwalbe is a bit confusing indeed. Most tire companies have some type of label in the sidewall denoting a tubeless ready tire. In the case of schwalbe, theirs is “TLE” for ‘tubeless easy.’ The stock tire on the polygon does not have this stamp. However, I have heard from at least one other source that you can run it tubeless even if it doesn’t have the ‘TLE’ stamp.

So the wheels for the 2023 frame and nobby nic tires can easily be converted to tubeless? I don´t see any tubeless ready logos on either the tires or the wheels.

See if anything stands out as particularly bothersome or a weak link. I’d spend a lot of time dialing in your suspension and getting used to how the adjustments affect the ride. I think the only thing the bike needs to allow you riding faster as a newcomer, setting it up tubeless with proper (low) pressure to maximize grip, and then better brakes, in power but also modulation. You can get a bit of both with larger rotors and the OEM MT200s, but these are basic hydraulics.

In my experience, the D7 doesn’t climb all that much better than the T7. However, the T7 is a much more capable descender in my opinion. With the current sale, I’d probably lean toward the T7

After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working ru-vid.comUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.

Don’t want to patronize, but do you know that the left pedal is reverse thread (‘loosen’ to tighten)?

I'm taking from this that it needs better brakes and overforking.

the fork will be able to do it. at least 140 by just moving spacers. you will put more stress on the head tube and slacken the head tube 1 to 1.5 degrees. do some googling people have done it and are talking about it

I really liked my D7 until the frame broke at the seat post and they told me there's "at least a 3 month wait for the warranty replacement, but probably longer". A warranty is only as good as thier commitment to honor it.
