7:50 should be "molecules", not 'atoms". In a (non-metallic) solid, the bonds between the *molecules* (intermolecular forces) are what make a solid a solid; the covalent bonds between the *atoms* hold a given molecule together, but have nothing to do with the state of matter. It is the bonds that attract one molecule to another molecule that dictate the state of matter.
