I have PMR, but because I'm 54, the rheumatologist i met with was very dismissive of my suggested diagnosis. My PCP started me with a prednisone pack, 654321, and i had wonderful 24-48 hour results. The rheumatologist told me to come off the steroids and come back for a blood test, and now we wait
So what happened? I also saw a dismissive rheumatologist, never asked me any questions about morning stiffness ADL, or anything. My husband diagnosed me, he's an Internist. My PCP refuses to accept that its PMR and wont write rx for prednisone. 16 months in now, down to 3.5.
@zootybeano rheumatologist said I showed very light inflammation on the CRP 1.1 and gave me a prescription for 10mg a day, but it hasn't really made any changes after 1 month. Shoulders are 50% better but very poor muscle control in the right hip. Neurologist appointment in a few days
@@pauljohnson2372 Even 20 mg didnt do the trick for me until I split the dose. Many people get CRP every month. It changes quite quickly. I dont want to taper if mine is up, fear of inviting GCA
