Polyurethane foam is made by mixing two solutions and stirring. The foam is shown at 8x the speed first, then at regular speed. As the polymer forms, a gas is produced that causes the expansion, then the foam hardens.
@@timothykeith1367 it is similar to the spray foam in a can. The polyurethane foam is mixed with another chemical to make it foam. It is mixed in equal parts. Part. A and part B the other chemical makes it foam. You can buy it in different densitys hard medium and soft.
Hi Scott I made a fiberglass surf board and I'd like to fill it with foam about 100 liter in volume will it foam if I just pour the liquid trough a small hole or I need to leave large one, would it deform the surf when expending if there is just one small hole for the excessive foam?
Can you tell me what chemicals you used & proportion ratio...as I work in a foam factory in Bangladesh.i want to learn the process to get better salary.thank you
Elephants toothpaste, peroxide liquid(6% solution when you bleach your hair it uses 12%, just for a reference, dry yeast, warm water, liquid dishwashing soap, a bit of food colouring. It will work the same as shown above
At Flinn Scientific, you just mix the two solutions in equal amounts and it's enough to do a lot of them. www.flinnsci.com/polyurethane-foam-system---chemical-demonstration-kit/c0335/ I've done about 10 so far and I'm only about 1/3 done with each solution.
Eric Escamilla this product can only be shipped to schools labs or museums apparently. Try this instead. It makes “squishies” Flex Foam-iT! III Flexible Polyurethane Foam - Trial Unit www.amazon.com/dp/B00I6LYDE4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_C.pYBbN1P6T6S
For anyone curious about the chemicals and process of conducting this experiment, this PDF does a good job at explaining everything: www.flinnsci.com/api/library/Download/4de11c10a7f2450f8befd84193087a86
