Pomfret Fry is a delicious fish fry recipe where the fish is marinated with a spicy paste made with a set of simple spices.
Pomfret, also known as Angel Fish is one of the most popular fishes that is found in India and Southeast Asia. It has delicate white flesh with a subtle “non-fishy” flavour, and that’s the reason it’s preferred more when compared to other fishes.
INGREDIENTS:
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Coriander Powder
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
½ tsp Cumin Powder
½ tsp Garam Masala Powder
½ tsp Black Pepper Powder
1-2 tbsp Lemon Juice
Salt (to taste)
1 tbsp Besan (optional)
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Wash, clean and make cuts in cleaned fish.
2. Mix all the ingredients into a paste with the help of lemon juice.
3. Apply this paste over the pomfret(s) and keep aside for 10-15 minutes.
4. Heat oil in a pan for frying.
5. Once the oil is hot, add a few curry leaves for that unique aroma, place the fish in the pan and fry for 5 minutes on each side or until nicely browned.
6. Drizzle lemon juice and serve hot.
