Pomp - love how you sit back and let the guest talk. THIS IS GREAT! You are clarifying the guests points and letting them run with the topic. Well done!
Man this is hands down on the best top 10 educational finance intellectual youtube channels out there. Thanks for keeping it free Pomp, really appreciate it.
That was riveting nearly fell of my chair when it ended Just when the battle was to begin A bit like calling half time in a boxing match When is the second half going to occur should I wait up ?
Enjoyed this! Balaji talks like a social science/ humanities professor, linking ideologies and broad social concepts with finance. Definitely a very different perspective
Credit to Pomp for letting Balaji talk, so many podcasters would cut him off or not let him fully expand on his thoughts. Brilliant from Balaji, comprehensive view you need rewind so you can fully absorb it.
Don't usually comment but that was an exceptionally good interview. I enjoy your interview technique where you allow a guest to fully explain their position without excessive interruptions. Really looking forward to part 2. Thanks
Balaji- Bitcoin 101 arguably still the best bitcoin video ever made. His speech at Brown was great as well. Mad he didn’t selected at FDA. Our gov’t needs more like him.
Pomp, I pray to have your humbleness and patience. All for us to hear a more clear discussion than a debate. Wise brother keep it up we as a country needs to hear more of this
Saw this guy yesterday and the interviewer broadly touched on decentralization but I felt like I was left wanting more. This is what I needed. Appreciated
Great podcast as always Pomp! Absolutely love the clear manner in how Balaji always explains his views. Interesting how he describes a need for privacy & decentralization while maintaining a free market. Verus is designed at the protocol level exactly for this #posttrust era we are collectively heading into. "Truth and Privacy for All" a true community owned protocol. $vrsc>$eth as always DYOR!
I like Balaji's MMT/BTC paradigm. He poses a definition of MMT as a "language" of the unlimited state. When he said that the image of an MMT proponent popped into my mind; someone who is so uncomfortable with the idea of there being NO ultimate authority out there who will swoop in to save us all that they presume one into being. It's like that old idea about god; if there really is no god then surely we would invent one.
I was audio only, and super distraught at the cliff hanger. Riveting and educational! Will have to relisten. Bitcoin as the leader of the free world needs to become a meme. Thanks, Pomp!
Great podcast Pomp! Interesting discussion about nationalism and rationalism - an analogy could be drawn with BTC and altcoins, whereby hearts and souls are captured by BTC, even if a lot of functionality and innovation in generated in altcoins.
Possibly restaurants that can make it on take out will treat their dining room as marketing. Charge a big premium and treat customers extremely well, every meal a special, expensive event. Charge a lot less for take out.
Agreed it will be more automated but not as much as drones because it’s highly inefficient!! Especially in our topographic region ... in the desert it’s ok as we did in the Middle East... drones were perfect for that !!! But AI with a different type of robot where you need a strobe light to see ( and they already exist) is the priority !!
Captain of the ship was told that there was Covid19 but chose to pull into port. He should have been discharged dishonorably for so many reasons. Definitely not fit to be in command.
Libertarians need to learn that the state can succeed Progressives need to learn that the state can fail. As a libertarian, this is a really powerful statement that drew my attention to my biases.
Meh. Let's see how it goes when government needs to borrow in BTC to fund it's foreign purchases, because the USD isn't accepted in foreign countries anymore. Were there some succefull programs along the way to the ultimate failure? Perhaps? At bigger cost than the free market would have provided, and that's for sure btw. And it ended in failure anyway.
If you've been on a blue water boat for any amount of time, you see how corrosive salt water is and how much repair a ship requires due to wave damage, use and wear. I'm not so sure robot drone ships are possible in 2020.
Freedom of Speech is so important. I am not happy that we are being censored for wanting to have a conversation or debate about various topics. When videos can be scrubbed from RU-vid because they donut fit the narrative of the gate keepers...this is dangerous. If a view is contrary to the gate keepers and they censor it, a thinking person must ask why this is so. I see some being censored that have valid points that should be discussed. When a few control all media channels, is that safe? I do not think so.
I think it's important that people have a tasteful amount of distrust for big government.. willful ignorance is part of the reason our government has gotten as large as it is. Government has a roll to play but they have overplayed their hand.
This dude should be on cable TV news every day and all night, he talks like he's right about everything and everyone else is wrong. He probably believes that some guy in a cave brought down our NY buildings too.
Great discussion, just one small flaw in the logic. Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand are remote islands with two week quarantines. The question is how does a global power with open borders and democratic, federal and state and county shared rule fight a Pandemic. The default answer is funployment for 40 million, typing of trillions of dollars and no middle class. The obvious answer is crowd immunity achieved with an open, educated society that practices social isolation, masks and good hand washing.
Until the network itself is secure, all of our crypto is at risk. We need a Secure Network and distributed computer platform and one that we can have Secure Authentication to log in and use that Secure network. Take the Cloud to the net level, one that allows for the efficient allocation of resources and so forth. By Secure, I mean a network that has a security model that is natural, the subgraph isomorphism problem.
Some scaminess in the marketing. The claim that BCH is the real bitcoin. But that's just an individual man opinion. And bitcoiners see that the market has decided otherwise. BCH people just can't afford to admit that.
Chinese buy into thier govt cause its managed by the proletariat class vs the US whose aristocracy class owns the majority of physical and financial structures
because it practically doesnt kill anybody....all you should be saying is go back to normal to save our economy....and that is it anything more than that is death.
