I am from Bog Walk, where the baddest rivers are, you don't go in the river when it come down!! The ripcurrent in that water is very swift, more over see brackramassa a mek werlpool in the water, inviting the ripcurrent, I know he feel the current around his feet you can see him looking down and around and even started to get carried away, and still insisted to stay in the river. They all no respect nature, river is not a pond or pool or even the sea, river runs with brutal force,I seriously think they should have waited until the river calm down and don't tempt Satan, because only the Creator God have power over that mighty fallen angel. Baptism is a very sacred act that should be performed with the safety of all individuals involved in mind, I am so sorry for the loss of human life. My sincere condolences to all his loved ones. All others in the future should take care when performing this ritual in any body of water.
Every river bank have a drop off point into deeper sections. That reach them because them can't the drop off point ca water too muddy. So when them dip woman she back up and a so them lose them footing in the deeper part.
Simple ...yuh can swim nuh guh indeh. Mih can swim and mih learn from mih a bwoy seh dirty wata under current dangerous. At about 18 yrs we went on a trip to negril but the bus overheating in st Elizabeth close to a bridge where the black river cross under the main road. We decided to go to the river. The river looked calm and welcoming coming around a slight corner. A group of us jumped off. Immediately we were 100 - 150 ft down the river. The good thing we all had experience with river after it's receding from cresting its bank. That experience was a hard slant swin to the bank
Some of our people have to use common sense. For example, if this woman had turned on the pipe in her bathroom and the water coming out of the shower head looked like that, would she continue to take her shower? How can someone become clean by baptizing in dirty water? Pure foolishness!!!
I have seen anything like this, anyone who knows a thing about river, knows that when the water is muddy and dirty, it coming down (raining up river as they call it)
Anyone with an ounce commonsense would have postponed a baptism given the colour of the flowing river water and evidence of a very recent high water level. The force of the water flow increases the closer you get to the middle and even if are a good swimmer, the river wins. Perhaps God's teaching to use commonsense.
Blessing sir I'm just making a comments on water baptism, water doesn't wash away sin, it only symbolize that your life has been changed, so it is a public declaration of our faith in Jesus Christ, so it is a outward demonstration of the inward transformation that takes place when we receive Him as our Lord and savior. Blessings to you sir Tracy 🙏
it does not matter if you want to use immersion, submersion, aspersion, and affusion as your baptism method or belief but in everything in life, you have to use wisdom, common, sense. dont criticize baptism, criticize the foolish, risky and dangerous action. "
Maverick, it’s a three second exercise. Dip the person, bring them right back up, make your sacraments over them, and move onto the next. There is no reason to remain in the body of water waiting for high tide. I was baptised many years ago and whilst it took place in the church’s baptism pool, it was over in the blink of an eye. And for those with enquiring minds, this chile of God is still walking with the King.😊
These people have no understanding of the undercurrent when a river is in spate. The Poco religion leader was washed away. The lady saw the her leader went under the water and a few seconds they saw the leader being floating down the river. I was told that he is alive but was unconscious when they took him out of the river. This is drama and never a dull moment in Jamaica. why these people choose this time for their dipping when the river came down. I hope other learnt from this near death experience. Thank God for saving them. Not one of them could swim.
Question...what was the purpose of the man stirring the water and what was the speach the pastor was giving ? Never heard anything like that said at a baptism also why in that dirty river?
No one allowed the woman to hold her nose before dipping her into the water. This is the reason she panicked. These leaders don't understand that you have to secure the person's safety before baptizing him or her. That is how the process started to tumble down. Sad!!!
First of all, that water is too dirty, plus the paster or whoever is dipping her is supposed to close her nostrils. Everything about that baptism was off from the beginning
I tried to watch that video with a little seriousness and I couldn't do it. I kept dying from laughter. I felt so guilty for laughing but somehow I am having a hard time not laughing 🙆🏿🙆🏿🙆🏿
Initially I was watching it without sound and I found it quite amusing though I didn't finish watching. It was a day after that I listened with the sound and I was laughing....trust me...I thought it was a joke...especially when I saw the young men moving around in regular clothing. Then I heard it wasn't a joke. Why is the water so dirty though...and why they taking so long?
@@anngreaves862 I watched on mute first too and then I started laughing as soon as they tried to dip the lady. I know a group of people in St.Mary who would do something like this. That water was past filthy
Maverick what is the meaning of Red Flag, the Lady have a Red Flag a wave, iyou don't even ave to be a Christian, if you are a Person who know your Bible know that the whole Baptism that they were performing is Red Flag 🚩
Poco church mix worship of GOD with worship of demons. Although people were calling JESUS name, HE was not in this stupid activity. If you know your bible, you would know that red flag, baptism in dirty water & man a beat di dirty water before di baptism start is duppy business!
There has to be complete emersion under water but when baptizing the candidate reduce the long series of lecture to the candidate...do that lecture in the precinct of the church not at the point of baptism...
To be submerged under the water in baptism is significantly identified with our saviour Jesus Christ, as he shows the example of how baptism should be done. Anything otherwise is man made, and not acceptable. However, all baptiser should be fully trained how to carry out the exercise, with full understanding of health and safety. In relation to this one in question, it's quite clear they went too far out, which makes it unsafe, and the colour of the water is an indication that rain has fell recently or is falling upstream, hence the current could change in a flash. So my conclusion is that the baptism would've been better off postponed until it's safe another time.
It's not funny but forgive me plz but I had to laugh .. all those people balling out Jesus Christ like the Rasta did seh "me a look fi see Jesus come save dem cause me Neva see him yet" e anyway couple of points here 1 why they choose to do that in that dirty river remember (cleanliness is next to godliness) #2 if pastor know him can't swim why him gone deh matter a fact if non a dem cyah swim why dem gone a river???.. what happened to the church mi sorry lady but uno could a ball god lil more him nah go wid you.. sad still but man fi know dem limit
Dip in the name of Jesus!. All when we have phobia to sin we still sin. What we need to do is to apply common sense. Maverick don't touch God commission. Seriously though I laughed so hard I had to ask for forgiveness. Is like a bad homemade movie
Baptism by immersion is the practice of fully submerging a person in water as a symbol of spiritual cleansing and rebirth. Here are several reasons why immersion is emphasized in many Christian traditions: 1. Biblical Precedent Baptism by immersion is often seen as the most accurate method according to the Bible. For example, Jesus' own baptism by John the Baptist is described as involving immersion in the Jordan River (Matthew 3:16). Many believers argue that this sets a clear example for Christians to follow. 2. Symbolism of Death and Resurrection Immersion is believed to symbolize the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Going under the water represents dying to one's old life of sin, while emerging from the water symbolizes rising to new life in Christ (Romans 6:3-4). The full submersion more clearly represents this powerful transformation. 3. Represents Full Cleansing Being fully immersed in water signifies a total washing away of sin, illustrating a complete purification. Sprinkling or pouring water, some argue, does not convey the same totality or completeness that full immersion does. 4. Historical and Early Church Practice Early Christian communities largely practiced baptism by immersion. Historical evidence from early Christian writings, archaeological findings, and art suggests that immersion was the standard method used by the early church. 5. Personal Commitment and Public Declaration Immersion requires active participation, symbolizing the individual's personal decision to follow Christ. Since it's often performed publicly, it also serves as a public declaration of one's faith, showing that the person has made a conscious, wholehearted commitment to Christianity. 6. Natural Imagery of Water Water, particularly large bodies like rivers or lakes, is often associated with spiritual renewal and life. Immersion makes full use of water’s symbolic significance as an element of cleansing, transformation, and renewal. Each denomination or tradition may have its own understanding of baptism, but these are common reasons why immersion is considered significant.
Maverick, you asked the wrong person about baptism. Do some more research, please. In response to this video, though, this is a clear sign of lack of wisdom on the pastor and congregation.
Such an unfortunate situation. Baptism isn't just about putting someone under water, there is a safe way to do the practice and that was not demonstrated in the video shown. In addition, "baptize," comes from the Greek baptizo, means "to immerse," "plunge into" or "put into." Two entirely different words are used in the Greek text to refer to pouring (cheo) or sprinkling (rantizo). So Maverick we can't pour (cheo) water on the person. We can't simply abandon clear biblical teachings just because others fail to carry out the practice safely.
The entire thing is just chaotic, pure confusion. That was just too sad. I don't even know why they'd be baptizing people in that dirty water. But what eventually happened to the pastor?? Did they find him, is he alive??
The entire thing is just FOOLISHNESS! Baptism does not need for any one to be pulled under water.... much more in that dirty river water.....the river was in spate!😢😮
They did it wrong the person they are baptizing is supposed to hold their nose so the water won't get in It's supposed to be a quick dip and come up Me ask the Lord for forgiveness but mi haffi laugh still
These people need to read their bible properly, the bible also teaches us to be WISE!!. The bible does not teaches stupidity but how to be wise. Our church uses an indoor pool to perform baptism.
These must be city folks cause all country people know say when river water brown and muddy you no venture in it. Because we had to use the river for everything as children, our parents tried to teach us the proper way to use the river. Brown muddy water means water coming from upstream, you could get washed away any minute.
