Now Its that time of year when the pond and filters can be full of blackfly.
They may look terrible in a pond but they are a good food for the fish .
A simple way to get rid of them is distilled vinegar and Bicarbonate soda mixed in water and put into a spray bottle just spy on them and they will release the grip and flow into the pond and get eaten. You can also spray them with a mix of water and hydrogen peroxide however this is more likely to kill them but is more effective on cleaning pipework out.
