I love Pontiacs, especially GTOs, Judges in particular. BTW, the carousel red 1969 "Judge" convertible shown is a fake. The grille is from a non-Judge, the wheels have trim rings(deleted on the Judge) and this car doesn't have a rear spoiler(standard on the Judge).
They named it the “Judge” because it could be bought.. saying the courts were corrupt in the 60’s.. the TV show Laughen was also bashing the corrupt courts
The first gto established in everyone's mind that the gto was the fastest car on the street. Who writes these scripts? I'm a diehard pontiac fan but I'm not buying that.
Fastest car around in 1964 was either the 427 Ford Thunderbolt or the 426 Hemi and 426 Max Wedge Plymouth Belvedere. The 64 GTO was a pretty fast car but there were faster cars on the market. Can't forget the full size 409 Chevy's and 427 Ford Galaxie either
My Grandmother and a neighbor had a Tempest .. seems to be the same body as the Judge .. I would assume the same as a Chevelle old's Cutlass Buick Skylark .. Gm sure had the Lions share of the market back then .. The judge looks a lot better than the Road Runner.. but the last Cuda's looked good .. My Buddy's Mother had an AAR Cuda with 426 Hemi for daily driver but sold it as it was not practical to drive daily ..
The 1970 AAR Cuda was only available with a 340 Six Barrel and no other engines on the options list. So either that wasn't an actual AAR Cuda or someone blew up the 340+6 and put that 426 Hemi in it. Or someone just put the AAR decals on a Hemicuda
