Cardiff born and bred, but my dad played cricket for Ponty throughout the 60s and 70s. Even though I was very young I still remember those weekends we had down the park and probably the best time of my life. The people I met were definitely some of the best I've ever met.
I was born in 67. I wish I could go back to see all this. Its a real shame to see ponty now compared to what it was back then. God I hate change and its a change for the worse I hate to say.

Born on the Graig in 1970 myself, so some of this is a little before my time , but only just , some of it was just on the change or had already when I was growing up in the 70’s as a kid,yet I can still mostly recognise nearly all of the sights. Yes mate i'm from graigwen, born and bred there, i was born in 62 so a bit older than you. i've moved over to mountain ash now though. still love ponty.

No problem mate, yes, that new monstrous thing opposite the old bridge though? Looks out of place in Ponty, it's a building that would be fit for purpose in a big city like Cardiff or Manchester or London etc. As you say though, some good changes in Ponty, the Broadway looks good when it's cleaned. Wondering if you've seen the pictures on the inside of the bridge at the bottom of the Graig hill, they look awesome. Just waiting for the graffiti to be added now. 🤣🤣.
@@KevinRichardsterminator Yes that blimp near the bridge is odd! Yea saw the paintings under the Station Bridge too - they are lovely Can't always sing with Tom "The 'ole hometown looks the same...." Thats the price of progress I guess - nearly everything changes eventually.Just nice to go home now and then and see SOME of the familiar sights and see some of the "growing older" familiar faces....and if they're growing older,it reminds me that I am too - and that's a double edged sword 😉🙂 Twas nice also to see how things were before I arrived in planet earth.
