Danya, I'd LOVE a masterclass on the Grand Prix. You've advocated for both the c3 sicilians and the grand prix, but haven't played it even once.

@@darklightmaxi8045 i think hes contrasting that while he advocates for both the alapin and grand prix, he is yet to play the grand prix. to answer the original comment, i think danya is trying to keep things simple especially while we're still at relatively lower ratings. i think he wants to teach more about beginner concepts and ideas rather than be able to just outcalculate a 1200 player. i do however think that a series on attacking as a whole could be really cool; playing a bunch of games against players equal to him and basically just playing the same sharp lines, explaining ideas of the opening/position and showing off cool tactics.

I love how if someone under 2000 plays accurate moves people instantly ask whether they’re cheating lol Edit: also, to Danya’s point about the Bg1 move at the end of the game, it’s actually one of the motifs covered in checkmate manuals like How to Beat Your Dad at Chess, so could be considered pretty fundamental.

You are an excellent teacher and after watching your speedruns my rapid rating went up from 600+ to 900+ but there is a lot to learn, and as I learn more, your videos and make more and more sense. You should try what Levy started doing recently. When playing at 900 level player, instead of picking IM moves, he would choose moves that are inaccurate or border line blunder and sometimes even blundered mate. Point is, that way, we get a weak position similar to our own games. Perhaps you can try that. You are a GM, and most of the viewers are probably going to be

@patrickmahoney2307
@patrickmahoney2307 2 года назад
You never talked further about white's queen going to h5 instead of b3 after the game. During the middle of the game, you said if the queen went to h5, black would block with pawn to g6 and then you would kingside castle. Wouldn't kingside castling make the king too exposed with the pawns advanced? Wouldn't it be better to queenside castle?
