Hi Daniel, what chemical should i put in my pool after the new marbelite? They re-marbelited our pool and we filled it up, but the marbelite has stains and the water is green. I hope you help us. Unfortunately we didnt use a pool company to do this :-(
you can use granular chlorine or a salt chlorinator, just note for both options you need to put 2 cups of calcium in the pool every 6 months to stop the marbelite from cracking. with regards to stains: stains vary from not washing down the pool before marbelite, not changing the sand pre-startup of the system (cleaning filter) or "burn" marks from over smoothing the marbelite. The cheapest and easiest way to get rid of stains is to use light/water sandpaper to get the stain off otherwise you can use a pressure washer under water. for deeper and larger stains you can use "stain removal" and use a steel brush which i dont recommended especially on new marbelite. last resort is to drain the pool and use an orbital sander very lightly to remove the stains then wipe the area with a damp micro fiber cloth and after re-fill the pool. for further questions you can email me at info@swimmingpoolhero.co.za
The pool was an old light blue, the reason they needed to re-do the pool was due to builders throwing cement into the pool that couldn't be removed. If there was algae we would have done an acid and pressure wash
