Love the cantilever design. I have a similar layout except I'll probably connect mine to the house. Do you have much warping with the 4x4? If you had to do it over would you use 6x6?
Only one of the 4x4s warped on us. Not too bad and doesn’t affect anything. Same can happen with 6x6s. But they’re much heavier. There’s no way we could have attached the cantilevered boards on ladders if they were 6x6.
Love this video. Thanks for sharing. I just recently heard of toja grids. I’ve been doing a lot of research about it and found your video. I want to get a hot tub and a dry sauna and have a shelter or a structure like yours over them. I’m wanting to have some sort of canvas at the top like yours but easily remove it or pull it back when I want to see the stars at night. Do you know if they have anything like that?
Check out this one that covers a hot tub: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QH6yUi5v5IU.html I don’t think TOJA makes temporary shades like that. But I’m sure you can find them online.
@@handydadtv I love your design and think it’s the answer for shade by my pool. I live where there are hurricanes though. I wonder whether 4x4 is strong enough but also whether 6x6 is too heavy for the cantilever. I plan to go to city hall to see whether there are any applicable regulations.
