Wish you all were around my area bc I'd ask you for a job. I'm from Elkins WV. I got like 20 yrs experience running skidder and 8 yrs running graffle skidder. Love your videos. 👍

You get them cool sun glass from CAT? 😂
@chadkemper
@chadkemper 2 года назад
No, Cat won't give me anything but a bill. The "cool" shades usually come from the Food Giant grocery store. They will put some shades on sale for $1 and we hit them hard when they do. It's so hard to keep them doing what we do, if they don't get broke or lost, they will get smeared with hydraulic oil. Thanks for watching.

Do you buy your own stumpage? Is it hard to buy wood around your area? much competition? I’ve never bought hardly any wood. I’ve always worked for the mill , Federal Paper, then IP bought them out, and now IP doesn’t have an in house forestry dept , but American Forest Management takes care of their land around here now and I just went to AFM when they started managing the land. I’m now cutting land and Timber I clearcut many trees ago. AC

We trade for most of our timber on a % for the logs and so much a ton on the pulpwood. 99% of our pulp comes from the tops of the log trees. About every 5th job or so we will just buy outright. When we cruise timber, we give the land owners an estimate of what kind of money they will make depending on how they want it cut. I will also give them a price that I'll pay upfront if they would rather have that. Most pick the % and I pay them weekly. I've done a few jobs for some local mills for a work bill and it's ok and it's usually good timber, but I usually stay in pretty good timber and there's enough mills around wanting different types of logs, that I can do better trading for my own timber and merchandizing it. What size shirt do you wear?

Hey Chad what equipment do u run my uncle has a small outfit one truck a loader and skidder and a buncher
@chadkemper

Sounds like we run about the same type of stuff. I'm guessing his is nicer than mine, most of my stuff is junk, but we're happy to have it. Currently we are running a 160B Barko loader, 620c Tigercat skidder, 726 Tigercat buncher and keep a Mack '06 on the road. We also have a 650H JD dozer that we use on the job for cleanup and keep drag roads decent when the weather turns bad, but we don't drag with it. Thanks for watching.

Can you tell me who the music artist is? Also, are there any shirts still available? Keep up the good work. Really enjoy your videos!

The music actually comes from an archive on RU-vid. We do have some shirts, let me know what you need.

Be careful out there. Ain't gonna say a thing about hanging that one up. We've all done it. Take care and have a blessed week and see you on your next vidja.

Thanks for watching Billy, if a timber cutter says he doesn't hang'em every now and then, I wouldn't believe he cuts much timber.
