The consequences of trying to take the trial without qualification depends on the person's level of mana, which is why Roswaal suffered so much while Subaru only feels a little nauseous.

Subaru is all messed up at the end because Emilia is hiding in the Trial building, and Subaru lost his qualification, so he had to force his way in.

Once Season 2 wraps up for Alana, we can discuss this further. For now I'll let it go. For those who don't know, the Season 2 finale isn't actually how it ended. The reason why Subaru took off from Emilia, even though he promised not to, is explained later. Nevertheless, when the reason is revealed, you still may not get it. In any case, there is no possible way to guess the reason at this point.
