Soccer is awesome, i love watching everyone fall over and pretend to be hurt while the game remains at nil all relying on a shootout to determine the "winner".
It’s a simple case of NSW having better players just like Queensland did over a decade. Motivation doesn’t come into it. Remember this is one of the best NSW back lines in Origin history.
@@jds428 yep QLD are making a lot of excuses up due to their performance but it no one fault but their own QLD really need to realise that or their never gonna learn as a Team💯
@@jds428 he may not be the best commentator but he’s the best player that ever lived…he’s one of a kind. We can never get another Cronk…promise you that
@@poasanaoia3002 And yes we can never get another Cooper Cronk I agree with you He is the best player on the field two grand finals he has one for the roosters to change that team It was unbelievable what he did for Queensland as well
I was 1 who said Green deserves a shot at coaching Queensland. I stand by that statement he did deserve a shot. I also however now believe that he has proven since getting that shot he’s not up to it. Green must go. The selectors need to find out which players including DCE weren’t motivated. Then never select them again.
He should never have been given a shot. I was so annoyed he got picked. Why would you get a guy who’s been out of the game and was coaching the worst side in the comp? Origin isn’t a club game, it’s about cohesion and a good game plan. They should get Cam smith or Cooper Cronk.
@@jake567100 1. He coached cowboys to a premiership, and then coached them to a grand final without Jonathon Thurston so he has a history of success. That was my reasoning. As for your argument that it should be Cameron smith or Cooper Cronk, Based on what? They were good players?? News flash the vast majority of great players are terrible coaches. Because coaching does not require any physical talent, it requires a lot of skills that being a player doesn’t prepare you for. The idea you had to have played the game to coach it , is just out of date thinking that shows that Australian sport is 20-30 years behind its American and European counterparts.
@@troystaunton254 and when the game sped up he won the wooden spoon. There’s plenty of great coaches who have won premierships in the league right now who are struggling to make game plans with the new rules. You’re not giving me any revelations mate, I know that good players don’t always make good coaches. Like I previously said, origin is not a club team. The players don’t need a regular coach, they are the best in the comp. They need cohesion and a game plan. Green failed from the get go with his selection in game 1. His choice to leave out the best hooker we had had been detrimental to qld’s offence. Ask yourself why Queensland have only scored 6 points then take a look at the ball they’ve been getting from the ruck. If you can’t see that, there’s no point even debating it. Cameron smith never had physical skill, he is a game manager and his analysis so far has been 100% spot on regarding this origin series. That’s why he should get the gig. He knows how to adapt a game plan, knows how to build cohesion in a team of stars and he has the most experience.
Even in the passed when Qld were at times the underdogs they always stood up and had a crack and often stole a victory against the odds. It has never been easy for NSW to win at Brisbane regardless of the team's list. This is by far the worst performance of any Qld team.
Exactly no matter the team list Qld always had a crack and lifted and kept coming and coming never gave up . To be held scoreless at Lang Park after a thrashing in Townsville I’m speechless
100%. I seem to remember DCE being desperate to make the Queensland team when they were winning and then blubbing every time he didn’t get picked. But suddenly he is no longer in the wilderness and lacks motivation.
@@troystaunton254 man there's only so much you can do against that blues side tbh, not to mention all the injuries that are plaguing Qld right now. It is what it is, NSW just too good.
@@michaelclifford7214 I’m NSW as well but the point stands, DCE wins one origin series and they are out of motivation? How could Cronk and co. do it 8+ times then?
Fact is NSW were too good. They have a scary amount of talent and they played well together. Full credit to them and the coach, simply too good. QLD have come up against this plenty of times in the past with NSW having the better talent but they have found ways to win. This years QLD team didn't have that and for me that falls back on the coach and captain and this press conference proved that.
Yep! NSW were just too good. Qld will just have to find a way to stop "the scary amount of talent". The Qld commitment always has/always will be 1st class but even 'commitment' runs out of energy against "talent". Through my glasses often ALL NSW ran at DCE, taking him out of the NEXT play, and Munster was unable to do it alone. (Holmes is a good player but not "scary talent") The outside backs can only perform if the team is going forward. It didn't happen last night. For player confidence? I think the coach has got to go .. but don't expect miracles. Perhaps a lesser drubbing for now.
I think they were expecting Green and DCE to just push that issue to the side and take on more responsibility. Green seem to care more about the eligibility issue than the actual game. Pretty poor effort.
@@jacksonlee1268 yeah I get that. Greeny and DCE just seem to be lacking the mongrel, the fight, like I don't know how to describe it but they're too nice.
@@ooblah10 I agree. QLD were as soft as I've ever seen. There were times during the game when DCE was virtually in tears from Latrell laughing at him and getting into his face. Not what you want to see from your leader.
What difference do they think Ronaldo Mulitalo would’ve made? QLD lost because NSW turned up to play, they were more focussed and determined, and way more effective in both attack and defense period
@@P83-o2k Agreed. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have seen Qld win, but if they ever hope to win another game or series, they need to acknowledge the real problems and not deflect the blame onto a situation that in reality would’ve had no bearing on the result whatsoever
Blues supporter here- ANALYSIS OF THAT PRESS CONFERENCE IS ON POINT!....Just own it!...no excuses, blah blah blah...you guys played terribly, there was a lack of leadership, things were let go and it played out on the field. DCE- You didn’t steer that QLD ship well, attitude reflects leadership and at the end of the day, everything rises and falls on you fellaz who are leading! UP THE BLUES💙- YOU BEEEAAAUUUUTTTTYYYY!!!
It isn't Paul Greens fault he hasn't enough talent to pick. Everyone is so quick to bash the coach, its the players who didn't pull finger. DCE is useless though and should be dropped.
@@kers225abk2 yes the players are very much responsible but don’t defend green, no intelligent person would think conceding 76 points in 2 games would equal keeping your job. Plus that pathetic attempt to make the excuse that a rookie on debut pulling out last minute is a reason you lost. No, just stop it. The last time I remember a guy pulling out last minute he was replaced by a rookie and that rookie scored a try and kicked the match winning field goal. That was finchy.
DCE needs to go. As well as Hunt. Munster, Gagai and Holmes were the only decent QLD backs. Forwards did ok however Paulo was clearly the most dominant forward entire game. QLD looked scared to pass the ball. After the first try against QLD they were wavering and than after the second they just didn't want to be there. They need to get comfortable passing the ball around! E.g. Kaufusi could of faced balled second half to the right wing and would have been a try but no confidence by the team for that sort of play.
I do think it's hard to have motivation when you look at who you're playing against though (player wise.) NSW have just about the best of the best in every position, origin and at club level. DCE had an absolute shocker, even in huddles you could see Hunt was talking and not the captain. This is also a difference in team culture and coaching. First game, first 5 minutes you could see Green was coaching like he was at the Cowboys, only this time there's no JT to carry him. QLD have an enormous amount of work on, and it could take a couple years
Remember the days NSW were always in this spot. It sucked for 8years. I guess it was easy for QLD to win when they had NRL GOATs playing in their team🤣
A they all champion player's form is the key for some people cooper learned from the best don't forget they had the best #1 the best # 6 & #9 in the game & Munster is a champion player how many premier ship's he got might get one this year but l hope my dragons can kulla
No positives whatsoever to take from this series from a Maroons perspective. No emerging talent to speak of and absolutely pumped in every facet of the game. The only silver lining from this embarrassment could be blooding Walsh and Walker in the final game, other than that it’s a total shambles. Outmuscled, outpaced, outclassed in every way.
Cronk nailed it when he said that, as a captain half back he should've put players where they needed to be on field n at that time n take direction, should put smith, Thurston, Slater n Cronk as the coaching staff
I think it’s a reflection on the Rugby League administration in Queensland. From the SOO team, NRL teams, State competition thru to junior teams. And, NSW has the same problems developing.
Braith talking about poor leadership and poor performance. He must have amnesia from his time at the Tigers where he pretty much refused to run the ball
Paul Green has to go, he failed to prepare this team and as is rightly being pointed out, he keeps focusing on things that absolutely don't matter to the result. Bring in Cam Smith as coach, with JT and Billy assisting, and ffs select a fit and disciplined team.
I'm a Cowboys supporter so I have a soft spot for Greenie and Neil Henry, but it's all nostalgia. Green ran out of ideas as an NRL coach after a few years, he's nowhere near Origin standard. Neil Henry got the Cowboys' roster mostly sorted but was an average coach. It's going to be a long 5-10 years for QLD.
My Game 3 Lineup: .-(1)-. Fullback: Kayln, Ponga. .-(2)-. Winger: Xavier, Coates. .-(3)-. Centre: Reece, Walsh. .-(4)-.Centre: Dane, Gaigai. .-(5)-. Like, Switch Ponga For Gaigai, IDK, But All I Know Is Dane Can Tackle Better Then Kayln, So Gaigai At Fullback And Kayln At Centre Maybe.
Darren Lockyer head coach and Cooper Cronk assistant coach for 2022 QLD Maroons coach full stop.Include Johnathan Thurston in the coaching staff. These is unacceptable for us we need to win the next series!
Yes here we go, blame storming, excuses and victim mentality , just own up and get on with it, stop sooking. No sympathy and stop blaming others QLD. Good win by the Blues.
True the cockroaches deserved the praise, remember when the cockroaches lost 9 straight? They did so much blame storming it was pitiful, they sooked for 9 long years. Good on the blues! from a Cane toad.
I’m not from either of the states so I have no horse in the race but I do think it gets better for Queensland either next year or the year after. You never play Feldt again, replace DCE with Sam Walker, and get a better fullback like Walsh or Ponga. A few players like Grant also come back from injury but even all that might not be enough to stop the backline of nsw provided they stay healthy.
its crazy dce is our halfback, its even more crazy that he is the captain, his kicking game is absolutley shocking. id be puting walker at 7 in game 3, ponga at 1 walsh 14, grant 9 if healthy, let munster captain
Vlandys strikes again. Stop blaming Queensland. I'm a Blues fan but Blind Freddy can see that Origin has been ruined just like the NRL by the manic new OzTag speed of the game thanks to wrecking-ball-in-chief Peter Vlandys and his rule changes. Just like the NRL, Origin has become a farce thanks to (a) tough footballers being (b) forced to play an OzTag style of game. These tough footballers were not built for the manic new speed of the game. That's why there are constant NRL score blowouts, and now it has flowed onto Origin as well. That's all it takes these days, a couple of injuries like Harry Grant and Kalyn Ponga and boom, your side gets whacked by 50. This will only be resolved by one of two ways (a) 90% of the NRL roster is replaced by faster more agile OzTag style players or (b) we sack Vlandys and send him back to horse racing. If you want passion back in Origin, if you want oomph back in the NRL, it's a no brainer decision. Your choice. BTW, and sack all these media clown commentators who can't see this WASN"T Queensland's fault, it wasn't due to lack of passion or effort, it was caused by Peter Vlandys and the random lottery of which side happens to have players more suited to the manic new speed of the game.
I think the worse thing for qld, is that nsw will probably get better as a side. Imagine if you put Teddy and Turbo in the same club side. If I was a coach I would try to make that happen.
At the moment Queensland needs a coach who can do the job with the least damage possible. To win over NSW you need a team loaded with stars which they don't have.
Shroud themselves in the mulatalo situation? They were just answering the questions put to them. That reporter kept asking the same question over and over again.
I think a lot of Cowboys fans saw this coming. Coach Green just doesn’t have the answers for the modern version of the game. Qld played exactly like the Cowboys have for the past 3 years: disjointed, directionless and disappointing.
Qld should start looking at the players who were more interested in starting fights than playing. Munster is the main offender but Kaufusi wasn't far behind him. They get dirty when they are losing. Even DCE was guilty of that. Play the bloody game instead of looking for fights 'cause you'd probably get beat there too. No captain of any team should admit they went out there without the motivation to win, especially in a SOO. Sack DCE from the captaincy. I can't imagine Lewis, Smith or JT ever going out there unmotivated.
It's the same plan that Queensland selectors do in the pass the backs are playing in the same top nrl team to know there game plan and leadership it was a good plan from Wayne Bennett and Smell maifinga
2021 QLD side were never going to beat the NSW side just look at the NSW line-up superstars from front to back ffs not even big Mel or Bennett could do better than Green with that lot simple as that the panellists are just over looking the obvious and I'm QLD get to the point nuckleheads
