I did this for my martindale number 2 golok machete. I used guttering downpipe heated in the oven, then stick the knife in there and squashed it between two bits of wood with a bit of sleeping roll mat. Gotta stand on it for a minute, then it's done !

I love your home made budget style mate, right up my street! Have you ever tried doubling up layers of hdpe for a thicker end product? Wondered if it might work for a knife sheath.

+Dunnit Meself not doubling it up, but did find that 25 litre oil drums are around the same thickness of some kydex i seen perfect for proper knife sheath

This could help a lot! I've a number of knives without sheaths, but this idea will sort that out :-)

Nice, i'll defo try this, do you know what PP 5 is, the 5 in the triangle - thats what dvd cases are made of, if its safe to use would be good as its slightylt thicker than bottles SmugBBQ mentioned you in his last video series - part 4 i think

+WeaponCollector not about dvd cases I reckon they can be brittle as you know when you cut them they sometimes shatter don't they , but hdpe never seems to do that , I,ll have a look at the video

Hi John I was thinking about your search to find a similar product to kydex and thought I'd let you know something I've tried... fender well plastic from automobiles, stuff works great and I find it all the time on the side of the road. Check into it and cheers.

I use my wife's toaster oven at 350° F. Until it's all clear if I'm using almost clear milk jugs. idk about other colors yet.

Keep a pan of hot water beside you and use it to heat up the hdpe it will work like a charm

@@cabbageman606 Depends on the materiel, where you are and what you use it for. A needle and thread or tape work even better. You can also use cardbord + tape
