Embark on a fantastical journey behind the scenes of Poor Things in this half-hour broadcast special. Cast and filmmaker interviews unveil the mesmerizing evolution of Bella Baxter and her uniquely crafted world.
I am just obsessed with Bella Baxter as a character. I didn’t even realize that the movie was more than two hours long because I was just so enamored by Bella. This film is so bizarre, beautiful and funny and I wish I could see it on the big screen again.
I can’t stop telling people to go see this. A trip to the movies doesn’t get better than this. A shining singing celebration of cinema. Yorgos is really gunning for PTA right now. Neck and neck at the very top for me those two. What a delight to be alive for a very special time in cinema history.
@sharonjones5173 i feel bad that people can't enjoy art. I feel even worse that they think others want to hear their negative opinions. If you can't say something nice, it's best to not say anything at all.
I want to live inside those sets, they're so lush and weird and creatively textured - Willem put it perfectly when he said refined with a sense of humour
I’m so grateful I was able to watch this in theatre’s with absolutely no idea of what I was in store for. Reminded me of what film should feel like! Give them all their earned flowers ❤
This film changed my life im currently reading the book and enjoying how free, fearless and sexually bold bella is. All the resilience of infancy, effusively in the present, never been taught to dislike her body or suppress her desires, never disguised, never learned cowardice and only uses her words to express how she truly thinks and feels - im continually inspired by her
The cinema was created for films like this, you have to see the film in the cinema and not at home as a stream. The backdrops are fantastic, such beautiful images deserve to be seen in the cinema.
Ive seeen this movie 5 times at the cinemas and honestly can say its truly a masterpiece and will go down as something beyond a standard film in cinema ..cant wait to watch this a trillion times at home
Man, I've seen it once and want to see it again. But the first time I saw it I just collapsed at the end. I'm kinda afraid now. But something draws me to it. I feel like there are things to be learned, a world to circumnavigate
I feel bad for the couple at my screening that left 10 minutes into the movie. They missed one of the most truly original and hilarious movies of the last 20 years.
I hope they keep these props in a park or museum where you can visit! What a waste if they did not. Haven't seen the film yet but will go buy it to see it over and over again.
That palette! Mustard and Ashes of Roses, with ice blue....just lovely. Shout out to Hanna Shygulla....loved her cameo on the ship as a bemused, frowsy aristocrat, she's a legend. ( I encourage you young film fans out there to check out her superlative work with Fassbinder and others, esp. Marriage of Maria Braun, The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant and Beware of a Holy Whore.
Wow, I didn't realise her room in her home was so colorful and pretty. It is an amazing film, very provoking and uncomfortable but in the same time, amazing.
Brilliant film beyond any words, Emma and Mark were so amazing with William, just Brilliant 🎥 🎞 Director & Production Design 🏆 Congratulations 🎊 👏 💐 🌹 Emma 🏆 ❤
Virtual tour through the set? Does anyone know if the sets can be visited virtually? The have scanned the sets in 3D. Did they publish the scans? (see what i mean at 12:55)
This is why i despise most of the big movie discussion youtubers - all theyll do is complain about the movie industry while completely disregarding a movie like this
This movie is a much more feminine movie than Barbie. This movie is brilliant. The evolution of what it meant to be a woman. Don't understand the hype of the latter.
They left 100% of the sex out of this quite comprehensive summation. The film is fantastic. But this deference to current morals is a great loss to all of us.
And they still havent addressed the backlash about this movie being about what is essentially a childs in the body of a woman having intercourse. Its not as if they wont have noticed, just check the imdb ratings which all focus on this very issue.
But it's not a totally original inversion of the Frankenstein trope, is it, because all of the Frankenstein's brides are conventionally beautiful as is Bella. It would seem that even if a woman can be imagined as free of all the social conventions, she still needs to be sexy for hetero men as well as have lots of sex with hetero men. Hell, there's even a lesbian scene in it. I wish there was a woman in the team of director, screenwriter and producers (other than Emma Stone). The fact alone that the body of an adult woman would not menstruate or be hairy is ridiculous for a female viewer.
I personally don’t get it. It was beautiful to look at. The costumes were great. I laughed at parts. But I don’t see why people are so enthralled with Bella as a character. She’s just another manic pixie dream girl in a way. Like good for her, she does what she wants. Like I want to like it but I just can’t see what others are seeing I guess. It’s frustrating me honestly.
Another weird movie that makes no sense. Along with last year’s “best picture” no plot just nonsense which everybody thinks is wonderful because no one wants to be the one to say how ridiculous it is. You’ll be fighting to stay awake 15 minutes into this.
