Sometimes it takes people some time to see and finally realize. Could take years. Some people may never see it at all. Maybe we’ll one day reach a time where all countries and all sports see that you can have great healthy athletes that rake in gold medals without the need for abusive methods or toxic environments.
We have so far to go. These was a recent story under the gymnast alliance movement about a RG athlete trying to BREAK HER OWN HAND in a door to get out of her abusive coaching situation. Her teammates actually understand and helped her do it. In AG a similar story about an athlete trying to injure herself intentionally to avoid the sport (Mattie Larson) Maybe it’s “worth it” for some of these sick fans but the gymnasts are saying over and over it wasn’t worth it for them. There can be a world with successful beautiful athletics without abuse. All of these fans are part of the problem. Stop defending the coaches. Be allies of the actual athletes who literally break their backs for your enjoyment
She made a good performance with the rope.... Viner wasnt wrong... You do a good job, you get rewarded, if you make serious mistakes (like dropping your club and ending your routine without one of your pair) your coach will scold you....
@@VitalijKaramakov ...and why is Yuzuru Hanyu so excellent without getting scolded by his Coach tho? There are many many athletes and gymnasts who are very good and yet have nice Coaches tho, scolding and slapping is unnecessary and middle-agey--- simple as that
@@_a__aa_______2295 in first place, there were 25 elements, not 20..... Then, it doesnt matter the numbers... You can have 25 simple and easy elements and lose just like you can have the 9 hardest and still win.... Or you have 25 easy but clean and perfect elements to win or 9 hard elements done wrong and dirty dropping the props etc etc you will still lose because the movements were hard but not done perfectly And yes, irina had hard moves for her time as an athlete... Now her hard moves will look simple to gymnasts like soldatova... When irina was a gymnast they didnt require the athleted to be that flexible! They had to control the apparatuses and show the demanded skills... That was enough... Unlike today
I thibk you haven't seen those movements from 60's 70's chinese, rumanian and oriental german gymnasts otherwise you would know most of those top ranking movements are banned now. I agree you could feel sorry for her but in this case there are facts and the only fact that matter in ANY sport contest (or a constest of any type) is who performs without making mistakes earns the right to get of the possitive feedback (cheers, glory, commends, etc) and the one who makes mistakes has to endure all the negative ones (if there are any of them). No feelings in competitions, just training and preparation
@@_a__aa_______2295 rhytmic is not only about body elemts, it is also apparatus wotk, ot it woudln't be rhythmic gmyanstics, now gymnasts had to work with apparatus a lot of more tha kabaeva's era, it's not easier ,it 's just different
You are wrong, you are confusing rhythmic gymnastics with artistic gymnastics. Rhythmic gymnastics never had dangerous movements. And the sport is much harder now than in the Kavaeba era, I don't even want to think about how it was when Viner competed.
Smh at these comments like I was a state rhythmic gymnasts and even at that level in my little basically third world country training was every single day except for one day and we had school too. We were children. Like 9-14 years old. Watching that gave me ptsd. You can train as hard as you want. Be the best in every single training session and that obviously increases your chances of not messing up during the competition but every gymnast knows that anything can happen in 1 minute and 30 seconds. Competition day is different. Mistakes happen that club fell within less than an inch of her hand. Can you imagine such a marginal mistake ruining everything. Like at this stage the routine is done so I don’t understand the point in the scolding
If you want to be stern during training go ahead my all means. But I can tell you nobody will be as disappointed as the athlete themselves. Maybe consider that when you say oh it’s fine she’s an athlete she won’t take it personally. Literally because she’s an athlete she will. Legit your coach can scream and yell and hit u even but the disappointment in yourself is always worst. So truly what’s the point of being angry once the competition is done. It helps nothing and no one and it’s cruel as fuck.
There are two ways to look at it. Viner is a coach and Zarina is a gymnast. But they are also two human beings and Zarina was 15 years old. yes, she could have done better, but I also think Viner was ashamed of how she yelled at Zarina on camera. It was an honest mistake. That moment will probably stick with her for the rest of her life.
Sage Unspecified I think the main thing is just take it behind the scenes, you know? I’m really not so bothered by the yelling but just don’t do it out in the open like that. The point of getting in her face is not to humiliate her but that’s the effect when it’s captured on all the cameras.
@@leval1000 you mean she she called her "you are shit and a slut"? Yep she is great couch but she has dirty mouth and she has no idea how such words can affect a child. It is funny because i saw another interview with Viner saying she never said anything bad to Rita, because she adored her.It is just strange
Zarina had no mistakes in her rope routine.... Of course viner would not scold her for doing a good performance So what of she was 15???? Strict training in russia starts at 6!!! You must be psycholigically prepared to be an athlete you must be mature to handle things... If you cant understand you fkd up your performance and your coach will be mad at you and just move on and work harder to not make the same mistakes in the future, the life in sports is not for you You cant take everything in a personal level.... you must know to separate things... You kust know how to filter information
@@dododimitrov9657 the interview irina said the didnt have to raise her voice was 2015 Za predelom documentary was 2016..... Goals change, expectations change, everything changes She was representing russia at the olympics, she was aware of her future!!!
Yeah she showed to everyone how important it is to train hard..... Dude irina is the best rg coach in the world...... Russia never lost a place in podium because of her... Russia was always there when she is in charge of the gymnasts!!!! The countries that are growing in this sport are evolving because of the russian coaches who go all around the world to teach their experience... To teach what irina did to make the girls shine!!!!
Viner has money and a great team, but it is a shame for everyone, even for their coaches. Alina wanted to comfort Zarina, but she didn't want to do it in front of Viner. Viner got angry when Alina and the other coach wanted to cheer him up.
rights? are you serious? Zarina was not being hit or abused, just strongly spoke to. Sport involves serious money, so Viner was also upset they lost with her, (although not alina).
I agree with you, but i have to say that if you humiliate a person it is also considered abusive... i cant read irinas lips to tell if she was exagerating but im pretty sure she was just being strict
I have seen Viner slapping gymnasts on the face during a competition, she stopped doing it in public because of the backlash she got. Also, after the “over the limit” documentary I am pretty sure she was insulting her and humiliating her, which is also abuse.
Thats not true! I've been at this competion and i saw how Viner slapped Guizikova! I was like 6-7 and iIwent to my dad crying because I was so shocked!
Guys, Zarina was an athlete... She knows if she messes her performance she will hear a lot!!! Her coach will be angry and upset... She was aa very mature girl and wouldnt take to the personal side.... If irina tells her that she did SH*T, it doesnt mean irina hates her and will never take her to competitions again.... It means that she knows Zarina could do better and wont accept a great gymnast be seen as a mediocre regular athlete...
There are better ways and this coach needs to learn them. She is probably just teaching the way she was taught. That's why we say that use of punishment creates a transgenerational problem. The abused becomes the bully.
She may have been harsh at the beginning, but in the second clip she comforts her! I believe Irina has many sides, a good side and a bad side (which we all do) I do honestly think she really cares about her gymnasts though. She just wants them to do their best. Plus, she has gotten more kinder over the years. The Moscow competition from this year, the Russian group rhythmic gymnasts messed up so much (a lot more than Zarina here) but she just shook her head with a smile on her face like "oh well" like she didn't care that much, I do believe she has a good heart, she just doesn't show it much.
Of course she cares about them have you seen the vacation that she gives to their gymnast in yatchs ,all the doctors and soprrs psycologist that they have ...i mean she buys louis vouitton bags for her students in their birthdays for god sake and also appart from the money the country gives all athletes in national team irina pass a salary to All families of the gymnast ...thats why later if they want to leave like kabaeva wanted or mamun even yana some the parents try to convince the kid to stay and endure
I'm with you. It certainly didn't look good, but we've all seen coaches do and say way worse to their athletes than that. Viner is a tough coach and she's committed to getting the best out of her athletes. Should she have yelled like that? Maybe, maybe not. But if she thinks getting in an athlete's face will get their attention and help make them better, so be it. I seriously doubt that was the first or last time she got an earful from one of her coaches. Elite athletes are tough cookies.
Viner is always like that, even nowadays she still yells at those girls sometimes. But at least she's pretty straightforward and does not hide anything in order to pretend to be a mellow person. And she provides the best training facility for her girls as well.
if you think what Viner did to Zarina is tough. You sure don't know Deriugina and Vasileva. 😈 plus Viner is actually very good person, she put so much of her own money for RG school, she admire Godunko from UKR so much, she never throw shade or talk behind to other country gymnasts like someone did. for example. after OG2008 some of the coach (which is many favourite) called Kanaeva an "ugly duck" and Zhukova a "grey mouse" mean words like this will never come out of Viner's mouth...
MrSoBitchy hahaha was Bessonova's coach: Deriugina. The best thing is that in a interview a reporter asked Kanaeva what she feel about it and her gave thanks to Deriugina with a sincely clean smile
irina viner is not a a saint...not at all.. over limits showed a really bad sides of her,BUT...while i think a coach can raise a champion without humilated him/her , i think that Viner is not the worst...DERIUGINA, but i dare to say basilva and bulgaria federation(a bulgarian girl tried sucide cough cough) can be a lot of worst...at least viner showed sometimes that he genuily cares for her girls like when she saved bliznyuk 's life paying all the medical care,or how she ensure economic security to her gymansts and families , and the future after olympic(i'm pretty sure h if a gymanst after olympic would show the desire to study at university irina would paid all )..is money everything?no...are deriugina for me more abuisve and less caring?hell ,yes
She is a coach. She has her own school and used to give girls to other coaches once they hit the age of 11/12 to get on the national team. That was back in 2010.
Love her or hate her irina viner knows what she's doing I think I'm like her when I'm mad at someone and then they get comforted by another person it angers me more
Gaming finish here... I prefer Artistic Gym, because my daughter practice this discipline, I look here for curiosity, but Artistic is more difficult and athletic... It is not a problem.. And you told me stupid😣Relax dear and good life!
I think that in the Rythmic, there are few possibilities to danger. Artistic exercises are full of risk.. If you are a Gymnast,I think that you know the stories about Elena Mukhina, Julissa Gomez and other... In the Rythmic, this is never happen. Is more quiet... Also charming, but more quiet...
