The real tier list we need is the Weird Al parody tier list.

Lagwagon needs to be higher, like A Tier. Even though they are commercially not that succesfull they have a great legacy and are very influential. Starting Skateboarding back in the day, before Blink, Sum 41 and all the others blew up, there were Lagwagon Logos everywhere.

No way is Relient K D tier ha....they are a fantastic band and great song writers (regardless of christian labels or not). Listen to Mmmhmm or Forget and Not Slow Down 🙌

Relient K is criminally low. They were getting mtv plays on two of their albums

The Starting Line created the perfect pop punk song in every way with Best of Me

Relient K is an S tier christian band. They were the one band you could reliably assume that everyone would like, and they got mainstream radio play which only POD had done before (other than KROQ, which we didn't have on the east coast

I love that you gave Yellowcard recognition they deserve. They were never as big as other big names in pop-punk but they got a lot of great songs to listen to in their catalogue. Their last three albums are not as good as 2001-2007 ones though, but Paper Walls and One For The Kids are solid.

Man that Relient K rating hurt me to my core. Two Lefts Don’t Make a Right, But Three Do and Mmhmm are exceptional albums.

Please listen to all of Relient K's albums. Underrated. Very talented group. I found their cassette taped to a port a potty at a festival in 99. Never stopped being a fan since then. Seeing them live next month! Btw I loved your interview with Sonny from POD!

Drank too much wine tonight so here are my views: "Homesick" is also a brilliantly named album because the nostalgia we all feel now is built into the title. Could still probably sing 90% of the lyrics to any given song on that record. IMO FYS is A tier or... Dare I say... because they basically popularized easycore. That isn't to say that we should downplay ADTR by any means. FYS's most recent album is actually really good and has had some decent reception as well... but you do you, boo. I love your opinions either way. Mest....They kinda made a nu-pop-punk song haha. I'm ngl tho that Cadillac chorus is a guilty pleasure for me. "Wut in the the california white boy trailer park suburbia tarnation is that?!?" TSL was what All Time Low was going for. Idgaf. Guttermouth is somehow ABSOLUTELY simultaneously S and F tier. Like the horseshoe theory of talent, they clearly stand on the cusp with one foot in each questionable ranking metric. Mark is a once in a generation phenomenon that nobody knew they ever wanted and actually... yeah nobody really does... However, then after hearing Guttermouth, you realize you still didn't want him, but like a drug he trolololed himself back into your system because you know you simply just can't live without these extreme levels of satire and irony, yet you still wanna die when you hear his ass haha. How you doing these day's bro? Loving the twitch highlights.

LTJ is killing ALL those bands. Talk about a STRONG discography- they got it and they’re STILL putting out quality shit. It also doesn’t hurt that they’re some of the NICEST guys in the game. S TIER!

GutterMouth IS an S tier band and Musical Monkey absolutely could not be made today.

I think almost everything four year strong has done is amazing, their musicianship, their catchiness and their way to remain the same while trying some new stuff keeps me hooked, could be one of my top 10 favorite bands easily, i recognize they're not too influential, but having a really strong album in 2019 (o is it 2020? Not sure) makes them at least B tier for me

Put Yellowcard in the A is very acceptable. I would personally put them in the S tier. I really low Yellowcard. They're in my top 3 for pop punk bands of all time and Ocean Avenue is in my top 3 for pop punk albums of all time!

FYS latest album is fucking amazing. For me I feel they’re mostly consistent and they know how to write a riff, good musicians

my personal favorite Mest song is "Drawing Board" that shit slaps respect for the Less Than Jake love. my favorite is "Motown Never Sounded So Good"

I was super into FTSK for their first 2 albums. They did a signing right outside the Hollister I worked at my senior year, and I didn't have anything for them to sign, so I just ran up to the front of the line and high fived a few of them on my way to work. Felt pretty good about it.

The only thing that bothered me, when you played homegrown you didn't play their Kings of Pop album..... close to a top 10-15 pop punk album. Great list

The starting line was honestly way ahead of their time. They had a touch of 2009 mallcore emo to their sound, years before the craze (give em some influence points for acoustic guitars and rocking swoopy hair in the times of high socks and dickies shorts)

I’m out here about to be a punisher for the Starting Line’s later albums. Based on a True Story and Directions are fucking phenomenal albums. Their first album is a classic, but damn those later albums just blow it out of the water for me. Also, don’t @ me but Konstantine is by far Something Corporate’s best song.

Relient K was S tier in Christian circles. They had multiple songs that did well on mainstream radio. They had more longevity and a higher peak than most bands on this list. If Mest is B tier Relient K is at least A tier, because I've actually heard of Relient K. Mest isn't sd good as most of your D tier bands based on what I'm currently listening to.

Mest is terrible. Holy shit. SHOCKED Four Year Strong was rated under them.

This list is whack. Forever the sickest kids over Four year strong? Both great for their time but forever the sickest kids aren’t even around anymore and had no influence. While four year strong is still chugging out great albums and are one of the most influential bands in easy core. I’m really starting to think Finn doesn’t understand the scene as much as he says and he’s really just evolved into a boomer that likes butt rock and pop music but is trying to stay relevant by making pop punk vids…

I disagree with the relient k placing so hard. S tier band all around. First 2 albums are rough, but from two rights onward it's nothing but bangers. They dropped most of the Jesus shit and every album has it's own feel while still maintaining that signature relient k flavor.

TSL are what a lot of the easier listening "more pop than punk" pop-punk bands wish they could of been. They struck the balance better than ATL, FTSK, 5SOS, ect

Four Year strong is great but imo they didn’t get really big because people didn’t identify with them because they weren’t metal enough for the metal kids, they were too metal for pop punk kids and maybe too metal for easycore kids I’m not saying all kids are like that it’s just what I noticed when talking to people about them they kinda are in their own corner but not at the same time. When I was pretty into them I remember talking to my one buddy that was a real metal head and I told him if they played the same songs but with drop B tuning and a brutal guitar tone you would like them and he said you know what ur right.

Mest was a band my ex liked. trash.. Rufio for life. Trio should be higher. Where is mxpx? Matchbook romance? Halifax? Brand new? Acceptance? Jimmy eat world? Starting line is amazing though

Relient K deserves better than D tier. They had far more crossover success than Finn gives them credit for, at least for teenagers in the 2000s. To this day I know a lot of people who aren't Christians that listened to Relient K back in the day and still dig their music. I think Finn is also underselling their talents as songwriters and musicians. Mmhmm and Forget and Not Slow Down, the two fan-favorite albums, have held up incredibly well.

Holy shit, music rarely gets worse than Mest! Terrible lyrics, terrible compositions. Cheesy, corny dookie. Bought a couple of their albums because I liked Cadillac, What’s the Dillio, and Compulsive Prep. But I couldn’t get through more than a couple listens. I tried. Rufio’s vocalist may be pretty, uh, weak… but that band is head and shoulders above Mest in every other way.

The Starling Line's 3rd album(Direction) is FANTASTIC.

I mean for the sake of factual objectivity, FTSK crossroads was based around the riff from Thriller by Fall Out Boy, which was a scrapped racetraitor riff.

Underdog Alma Mater is legit a banger of an album. One of my favorites of the past 20 years. Infectiously catchy shit with some really cool ideas (like having 3 vocalists haha). It really sucks that all their stuff after that was just extremely meh. I've heard rumors of them possibly working on some new stuff, so that could be interesting.

Lagwagon was like the n1 band at skateparksaong with NOFX. It's definitely not "C". Joey cape still has quite a following.
